School of Engineering and Technology at Sunway University welcomes interested candidates to submit their resume for the above-stated vacancy with the following job specifications:

Responsibilities

• To carry out research and produce publications or other research outputs in the Engineering discipline, in line with personal objectives agreed upon with the Head of Department (HOD) which shall be aligned to the mission and vision of the School of Engineering and Technology and the University.
• To teach at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• To supervise undergraduate, taught graduate or research graduate students.
• To contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high-quality curriculum.
• To contribute to the accreditations of academic programmes by the relevant statutory and professional accreditation bodies.
• To develop learning materials and maintain records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance.
• To contribute to the setting, administration and marking of exams and other assessments.
• To provide pastoral care and support to students.
• To undertake administrative and leadership duties as and when required.
• To maintain own continuing professional development.

Requirements

• Doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in Electronics, Chemical, Mechanical and associated Engineering from a reputable institution of higher learning.
• Demonstrate high-quality scholarly research publication record with recognized international standing in research.
• Demonstrate knowledge of matters, experience, ongoing membership, and active involvement in activities of the professional Engineering or relevant institutions and societies.
• Familiarity with curriculum and programme development principles, processes and practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with various individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Continuing self-development through upgrading qualifications, experience and professional activities.
• For applicants for the position of a Senior Lecturer:

• Experience and knowledge of new programme approval and accreditation practices, particularly by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) and Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) will be an advantage.
• Demonstration of leadership and management abilities and skills in academic and/or industrial settings in the relevant subject fields are desired.

Preferred Attributes

• Commitment to effective teaching, professional and scholarly research, as well as active service to the University, School, and community at large.
• Ability to multitask while carrying out activities and duties in cooperation with colleagues and partners.
• A proven record of successful applications and acquisition of competitive research grant funding as well as experience in handling high-value funded projects.
• Industry experience will be a significant plus.

Preferred Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations

• Professional Engineers (PEng/Ir.) qualification/registration recognised by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• Senior membership in leading professional institutions/societies in Engineering.
