Job Description

Prior experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial / procurement contracts ranging from supply, consignment and/or framework agreements. Basic understanding and ability to review all forms of IT or technology related contracts including but not limited to service provider, professional services, software license, software-as-a-service (SAAS), licensing, leasing and maintenance agreements.
Responsibilities

• Possess a level of expertise or a keen interest to specialize in the following areas: Telecommunications law, Consumer data and information security law, Personal law (prior experience in advising or researching on EU GDPR, the UK Data Protection Act 2018, the Australian Privacy Act 1988, and the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 will be an advantage), Intellectual property law, Competition or antitrust laws
• Provide timely, strategic and actionable advice as a key business partner to internal stakeholders
• Participate in meetings, discussions and/or negotiations with internal and external clients and provide advice, recommendations, and suggestions on legal matters
• Ability to balance legal issues against commercial considerations with a view of ensuring legal compliance and promoting CelcomDigi's interest
• Liaise with external solicitors and legal advisors as and when required
• Prepare required reports as and when required by management
• Generally assist the HOS on all matters related to the Legal Division as assigned by the HOS

Requirements

• Admitted as advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya (preferred but not essential)
• Bachelor's Degree of Law/LLB
