The Role Responsibilities

Job Role

This role supports balance sheet management responsibilities and primarily focuses on driving the ALCO balance sheet agenda including optimisation strategies, capital and liquidity planning to ensure the Bank remains in a financially sound position both structurally and on a day-to-day basis.

The role also supports the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s recovery and resolution planning and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head, Balance Sheet Management and Capital and Liquidity Reporting in driving strategic initiatives to optimise the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s balance sheet and funding costs, and to improve returns.
  • Actively contribute to providing leadership and direction in driving balance sheet, capital and liquidity management through analytics, insights and other subject matter expertise.
  • Lead the delivery of the ICAAP, Stress Testing and Reverse Stress Testing in compliance with BNM regulations and SCB policies and standards.
  • Manage the issuance and redemption of capital including information shared with ratings agencies on capital and liquidity, as well as providing guidance on profit retentions.
  • Provide support and lead the coordination of reviews and audits by internal / external auditor or BNM touching on ICAAP and / or Stress Testing.
  • Provide appropriate information to support ALCO in the efficient management of the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s balance sheet.
  • Support delivery of the Country\xe2\x80\x99s Recovery and Resolution Plans.
  • Support deliver the Corporate Plan - Balance Sheet and monthly rolling forecast.
  • Be a role model in ensuring adherence to the risk management framework, Financial Controls Reconciliation and Substantiation Policy, Committee Governance Standards, and other relevant policies and regulations.
  • Provide effective oversight over the GBS / GFS team and collaborate with them to make the operating model successful.
  • Governance Committee preparation (ALCO, Board Committees).
Projects and Process Improvement Initiatives
  • Participate in change projects touching on Balance Sheet Management and ensure deliverables are completed in a timely manner.
  • Enhance processes and procedures and mitigate operation risk within Balance Sheet Management processes.
  • Lead delivery of tactical and strategic projects under balance sheet management.
People and Talent
  • Train and develop junior team members ensuring that everyone achieves their potential and that the team delivers its collective agenda.
  • Lead self through example and build the appropriate culture and values.
  • Provide objective feedback to team members and peers for their ongoing development.
Governance
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Bank operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
