The scope would cover taking the lead in identifying what and how Global Finance systems changes would need to be tailored for to meet the ESG and Sustainable Finance Global Finance strategy, priorities and requirements. This includes gathering of business and data requirements, understanding changes to current processes and controls to design the data required to deliver the ESG book of work, aiming to facilitate the target operating models to enhance the ESG reporting capability in Global Finance. The role would manage the interlock with Global Lines of Businesses (GLoBs) and/or Global Functions (GFs) with Global Finance.

The role also aims to enable the ESG CFO to keep track of the status of any of the ESG and Sustainable Finance related discussion or issues that would have an implication to Global Finance to meet its external Disclosure requirements and/or deliver the internal reporting and monitoring capability on ESG and Sustainable Finance related matters, from Global Finance\xe2\x80\x99s Strategic Solution (Strategic Solution) over the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s ESG reporting obligations and internal monitoring and reporting capability.

The potential impacts to finance systems would span along the end-to-end processes resulting from any of the ESG and Sustainable Finance related initiatives. For instance, any of the upstream business requirements changes leading to their upstream system changes, which would need to be considered in the Global finance processes and systems.

Here\xe2\x80\x99s what you can expect:

The global ESG and Sustainable Finance Programme is a multi-year programme within Finance Change Delivery (FCD) to deliver the Global Finance Strategic Solution for ESG reporting obligations (and internal monitoring and reporting capability) for the bank. As a key member of the global ESG FCD team, this role will contribute to the transformation and delivery of the Strategic Solution covering ESG disclosure,

regulatory and internal MI reporting onto the Cloud-based data and reporting solution as brought out by the Finance on The Cloud (FoTC) Programme. In particular, this role would lead and drive the end-to-end design of the Operating Model and Controls for Strategic Solution development across the funded Book of Work. It is essential to be familiar with the fundamentals of FoTC.

The role holder is expected to liaise with a large group of senior stakeholders across Global Finance, including ESG CFO team, business finance teams and GLoBs and GFs to lead and deliver the design of operating models and controls for ESG and Sustainable Finance related initiatives, that may or could have an impact to Global Finance processes for both external disclosures and internal reporting and monitoring.

Strong collaboration is required with the Data & Compliance Value Stream within FCD and across FoTC teams as the person will manage and drive consistent processes and controls for the ESG Strategic Solution to comply with the FoTC processes, system architecture (FCDP, FCRP and FCVP) and FoTC controls framework in line with the Finance Operations operating model.

The scope would cover taking the lead in identifying what and how Global Finance systems changes would need to be tailored for to meet the ESG and Sustainable Finance Global Finance strategy, priorities and requirements. This includes understanding changes to current processes and controls to design target operating models and controls. To this end, the role would help coordinating with Global Lines of Businesses and/or Global Functions with Global Finance.

The role holder will enable the ESG CFO to keep track of the status of any of the ESG and Sustainable Finance related discussion or issues that would have an implication to Global Finance to meet its external Disclosure requirements and/or deliver the internal reporting and monitoring capability on ESG and Sustainable Finance related matters.

This role is a unique opportunity to work in an area of growing interest to regulators, investors, and the wider external market. Disclosure rules and regulation for ESG topics are evolving globally. There is a need to understand new and changing disclosure requirements, and how these can be best met through US and Group\xe2\x80\x99s external reporting.

As the ESG disclosures have grown in prominence, there has been an increased need for robust assurance and oversight of disclosed ESG materials.

Key accountabilities include:

\xc2\xb7 Drive development, review, and agreement of required operating model and control changes for the overall operating model and Finance roles and responsibilities within that.

\xc2\xb7 Lead and manage a team, including coaching and acting as a role model for junior team members

\xc2\xb7 Develop and implement a robust operating model and controls plan and approach, including and monitoring key tasks and delivery milestones.

\xc2\xb7 Effectively manage project RAIDs and ensure HSBCs change framework is followed.

\xc2\xb7 Perform risk and control assessments, identifying new or enhancements to current controls. Define robust controls in adherence to HSBCs control framework.

\xc2\xb7 Perform risk assessments on ESG processes and controls at different stages of project delivery.

\xc2\xb7 Contribute to programme testing approach and documents, including gathering controls testing evidence during dry runs/ parallel runs.

\xc2\xb7 Create and review Operating Model packs and present to senior stakeholder to seek approvals.

\xc2\xb7 Define a robust governance structure and facilitate discussions with global key stakeholders on all stages of TOM implementation (people, process, systems, and data).

\xc2\xb7 Map target state business processes and controls in MS Visio and CaseWise, ensuring HSBC standards are followed

\xc2\xb7 Design new/ uplift existing control definitions in compliance with HSBC control standards

\xc2\xb7 Maintain strong, collaborative working relationships across Finance and other stakeholder groups.

\xc2\xb7 Contribute to the development and delivery of the Global Finance Change book of work on ESG and Sustainable Finance deliverables including Group, Regional and site deliverables.

\xc2\xb7 Work with other programmes to ensure that Finance related ESG and Sustainable Finance dependencies are delivered within the timelines and to the standards required by Finance.

\xc2\xb7 Enable transition to BAU, ensuring completeness, governance, and adherence to Change Framework standards.

\xc2\xb7 Provide important link into project delivery team to ensure quality in operational readiness planning.

\xc2\xb7 Drive, motivate, commit, and focus on operational excellence.

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

\xc2\xb7 Passion and curiosity in ESG; understanding and knowledge of certain ESG disclosures process, and requirements

\xc2\xb7 Experience of leading complex operational change at scale and pace

\xc2\xb7 Experience of designing and implementing Finance operating models, including as-is and to-be process and control design

\xc2\xb7 Good knowledge of Finance systems architecture and strategy delivery, specifically Finance on the Cloud

\xc2\xb7 Experience of defining controls to mitigate key risk, including evaluating controls over financial and operational processes

\xc2\xb7 Experience of performing Risk assessments throughout a project life cycle, including non-financial risk assessments and be able to present to Risk Stewards

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge on the ESG book of work, and the strategic roadmap of integrating the ESG book of work into the Finance processes and FoTC.

\xc2\xb7 Experience of leading, managing and developing teams

\xc2\xb7 Experience of managing stakeholders including C-suite through the execution of operational change

\xc2\xb7 Ability to influence and collaborate with Finance and cross-functional teams.

\xc2\xb7 Strong project management skills and a demonstratable experience of working on multiple engagements and managing your time effectively

\xc2\xb7 A key focus on delivering high quality of work to tight deadlines

\xc2\xb7 Strong business awareness, sound reporting skills and the ability to work under your own initiative

\xc2\xb7 The ability to coach and act as a role model for the junior members of the team

\xc2\xb7 A willingness to learn new skills and help develop and innovate new stakeholder propositions

\xc2\xb7 Proven change management skills

\xc2\xb7 Excellent working knowledge of MS related products i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Ms Visio, and Word

\xc2\xb7 Prior experience in global regulatory/finance change within a Finance or Risk context

\xc2\xb7 Understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviours, processes, and objectives.

\xc2\xb7 Good knowledge of the external environment \xe2\x80\x93 regulatory, political, competitors, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Team-working experience in a project environment and a flexible and adaptable working style to work with multiple project managers across multiple geographies

\xc2\xb7 Prior knowledge of existing Finance processes, particularly regulatory, financial and ESG reporting is desirable.
