RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine the most desirable method of producing each job with respect to cost, publication/printing requirements and possible other uses
  • Negotiation of quality materials and services from suppliers at the best price for press/print production matters
  • Responsible for Print & Art Buying, estimating & delivering finished illustrations & transparencies & printed materials
  • Helps selection of Photographers, casting agents, talents
  • Supervise the routing of proofs for internal approval/corrections in consultation with Creative Services
  • Maintain an up-to-date list of \xe2\x80\x9cpreferred\xe2\x80\x9d suppliers while always seeking alternatives which are advantageous to both the agency and Clients.
  • Develop close working relationships with the Creative team, conferring with Art Directors so as to obtain artwork/material suitable for good reproduction and to anticipate & solve problems.
  • Assist Brand Communications, Creative Services Coordinator and Creative in setting due dates for various stages of production
  • Suggest revisions to Art Directors that might facilitate production, reduce costs or improve reproduction
  • Confer with Finished Artists, Art Directors on color correcting and to assure the finished quality is up to expected standard.
  • Inform Creative Services of any delay or other problems areas which may affect delivery dates
  • Obtain from Media Department details for the issuing of insertion orders and copy instructions along with materials
  • In cooperation with the Media Department, obtains deadline extensions form publications where necessary
  • Keep production notes/references updated for reference
  • Review ll publication printing for reproduction quality
  • Keeps Creative informed of new development in graphic arts and technology
  • Keep up-to-date with the mechanical requirements of publications/printers so that the materials supplied are acceptable in the technical sense.
  • Develop and support a team operating environment
  • Appropriate delegation of work
  • Poor performance issues dealt with promptly
  • Check actual invoices against estimates
  • Approve invoices promptly and forward to Finance
  • Ensure purchase orders, with job numbers, are issued to all suppliers
  • Maintain accurate records of material disposition, reprint requirements and other factors particular to each account.
