About the role

The role of the PMO is to drive the people element of Dysons delivery capability model with training, support, guides and mentorship. This is done through close collaboration teams members across delivery processes and delivery systems.

The role takes and leading part in maintaining BAU across the Portfolio, owning Project Management assessment tools and having business product ownership for Microsoft Project and Enterprise.

The role reports directly into the Head of Product Development governance and Portfolio management. The post is considered critical for the success of the overall portfolio and for improvements across the delivery capability.

Project Delivery People Capability

Ownership and continuous development of the people element of Dysons delivery capability model.

Input to the capability roadmap, working to identify improvement opportunities.

Management and roll-out of guides, training and documentation.

Governance and checks across projects of process adherence.

Support the identification of specific project/people training needs.

Business point of contact for BAU and Business critical system

Ownership of BAU backlog and prioritisation of tasks.

Escalation of BAU risks and issues.

Team management of BAU team across the Product Development Governance and Portfolio Management.

Project Management ways of working

Helping to drive improve across project management and project delivery ways of working.

Mentorship of project managers across Dysons portfolio.

Microsoft Schedule Business owner

Subject matter expert on MSP scheduling

Business Product Ownership and subject matter expert for Microsoft Project 2016 and enterprise server.

Ownership of project scheduling tools, roadmap and future development.

Leadership of Quarterly forums focused on Project Management schedule improvements.

Input to PM and DM forum on schedule management best practice.

Governance of schedule management processes.

About you

Significant experience and expertise across Microsoft Project 2016.

Experience with Microsoft Enterprise Server.

PMP or APM accreditation or working towards this.

Project and Programme management experience in a complex and fast paced environment, providing governance across a projects, programmes, and portfolios.

A comprehensive understanding and knowledge of all project management competences.

A strong and robust understanding of a typical product development project lifecycle.

Experience of leading improvements across project delivery and project management capabilities.

Appreciation and understanding of the critical business functions and their contribution to NPI and NPD including Engineering, Commercial, Finance and Operations functions.

Significant experience and expertise across Microsoft Project 2016.

Experience of process mapping.

Experiencing managing BAU for PMO or projects.

Experience delivering training and drafting training material for project management competences.

Excellent written, spoken, and presentational communication skills.

Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders quickly.

Comfortable engaging and influencing stakeholders of wide-ranging levels of an organisation.

Experience making quick decisions based on data and assessments of risk.

Confidence in problem solving, analysis and decision making with a solution orientated mindset.

Ability to process a large amount of information and to summarise clear concise messages for target audience.

A Strong organisational skills.

Approachable and enjoys helping others.

Global Development Campus (Malaysia) : A world-class development centre

In 2003, after 10 years of rapid expansion in the UK, Malaysia was chosen as an additional location to allow the continued growth of Dyson\'s manufacturing and testing facility. It was close to component manufacturers and much of the supply chain, as well as providing very high levels of manufacturing quality. Over time, Dyson operations expanded in Malaysia. Having started out with a team of just 10, today our Malaysia Design Centre has grown to be a base for more than 1,200 skilled Dyson people working across Engineering, IT, Finance, Creative and HR. Our Johor facility had humble beginnings, but what was originally a few small labs covering 350m\xc2\xb2 is now a bustling campus occupying 50,000m\xc2\xb2, including state-of-art acoustic chamber, environmental chamber, Microbiology Lab, Power Electronics & Battery Development labs and rapid prototyping facilities. It\'s an important centre for research, development, design and testing - home to an exceptional team.
