Position title: Senior/ Quantity Surveyor

Location: Kulim, Kedah

Headcount: 3

Tenure: 12 months of contract

Responsibilities:

\xc3\x98 Perform and/or support all QS activities such as tendering, contract administration and preparation of project reports.

\xc3\x98 Taking off, pricing and submission of tenders.

\xc3\x98 Source for subcontractors/ suppliers and guide the Purchasing Executive in procurement.

\xc3\x98 Prepare BOQ and tender document/ proposal, pre and post contract administration.

\xc3\x98 Attend tender clarification meetings, analyze subcontractors bid submissions and negotiate with selected subcontractors.

\xc3\x98 Ensure all subcontracts placed incorporate all relevant contractual information from Main Contract to minimize variations and potential disputes.

\xc3\x98 Ensure subcontract orders issued for authorization are free of errors, missing scope or inconsistencies.

\xc3\x98 Prepare tender reports and award recommendation.

\xc3\x98 Prepare and/or evaluate change orders, review and evaluate progress of work done.

\xc3\x98 Carry out Subcontract payment certification.

\xc3\x98 Manage timely production of the Main and Subcontract Final Accounts, including re-measurement as necessary to ensure the best result, evaluation and agreement of all variations, extensions of time, loss and expense claims.

\xc3\x98 Ensure effective commercial management of contracts to maximize gross margin.

\xc3\x98 Perform budget cost planning, interim forecast, monitor and control project cost.

\xc3\x98 Prepare project cost reports.

\xc3\x98 Prepare project cash flow reports; ensure that cash flow forecasts are accurate and optimized where possible.

\xc3\x98 Effective cash management including timely application / certification / invoicing / payment / receipts and careful administration of subcontract accounts.

\xc3\x98 Ensure that payments and notices effected in accordance with the subcontract and Construction Act and ensure that any commercial threats or risks to projects are identified.

\xc3\x98 Any other may be assigned by the superior / management from time to time

Education:

\xc3\x98 Master Degree, degree or diploma in quantity surveying, civil engineering, construction management, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or project management.

Working Experience:

\xc3\x98 At least 3 years of working experiences as a Quantity Surveyor.

Technical & Professional Knowledge:

\xc3\x98 Detailed knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes and materials;

\xc3\x98 Commercial skills to maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management;

\xc3\x98 Knowledge and understanding of main contract for the assigned projects; protection of contractual position;

\xc3\x98 Knowledge and understanding of measurement and valuation, change management, budgets and forecast management;

\xc3\x98 Knowledge and understanding of subcontracts and procurement;

Other Requirements:

\xc3\x98 Good in English proficiency.

\xc3\x98 A practical and logical mind and a methodical way of thinking;

\xc3\x98 A creative and innovative approach to problem solving;

\xc3\x98 Strong numeracy and financial management skills;

\xc3\x98 The ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people;

\xc3\x98 Negotiation and team work skills and the ability to motivate and lead those on site;

\xc3\x98 Detailed knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes and materials.

\xc3\x98 Must be able to read and understand drawing and specification.

\xc3\x98 Must be able to interpret project schedule.

\xc3\x98 Good computer skills Microsoft Offices - EXCEL, WORDS and PowerPoint. Experience and skills in Microsoft Projects / Primavera will be added advantage.

\xc3\x98 Good interpersonal skills, team player, independent and hardworking.

Willing to travel and relocate for outstation projects.
