Job Description

Lead the planning, design, and development of innovative personal care products aligned with current market trends and consumer demand. Supervise and coordinate the full product development cycle from laboratory scale to trial and production scale-up. Oversee R&D studies for value addition, regulatory compliance, product safety, quality improvement, and cost optimization of new and existing products. Lead research on improving processes, creating new raw materials, and using new technologies to reduce costs and improve product quality. Provide high-level technical support to Production, QA/QC, Sales & Marketing, Business Development, and Export departments on formulation adjustments, material evaluation, troubleshooting, and customer complaints. Lead comparative studies and competitive bench marking for formulation analysis and finished goods performance against market products. Ensure all R&D and lab equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, and used in accordance with standard operating procedures and safety requirements. Liaise with external and related parties such as raw material suppliers, regulatory bodies, testing laboratories, and research collaborators to support product development and registration activities. Mentor and supervise R&D team members by providing training, delegating tasks, and giving performance feedback. Any other responsibilities as assigned by the QA/QC Manager.

AUTHORITY

Has the authority to make decisions on formulation direction, raw material selection, and development priorities, in consultation with the R&D Team. Authorized to advise Production and QA/QC departments on product specifications, process parameters, and corrective actions related to formulation and quality concerns. May represent the company in technical discussions with clients, auditors, or regulatory agencies.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field. A Master's Degree is preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in formulation and development of cosmetic, skincare or personal care products. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and cosmetic formulation technologies. Analytical, creative, and proactive problem-solver with leadership and mentoring abilities.
