Please see more about what team has launched atGet to Know the RoleYou will report into the Engineering Manager and you will work on multiple aspects of Grab\'s Safety features which requires an understanding of not only application programming but also system performance.This is a regional role where you\'ll collaborate with a diverse team of mobile and backend engineers, data scientists, product managers, and designers.This role is based in Petaling Jaya and hybrid.The Critical Tasks You will Perform

• Take ownership of projects and work with the Product, Design, Mobile and Backend teams to develop consumer and partner facing new products, platforms and features.
• Build reusable Android software components for the Grab platform.
• Monitor the performance of the live apps and improve them on both code and experience level.
• Improve by reviewing each other\'s code, share knowledge, tips and tricks, and generally help out - across teams.
• Collaborate with QA on continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) and other automated and manual testing to make sure our app releases are always worthy of five-star ratings.

QualificationsWhat Essential Skills You Will Need

• Up to date on the modern Android programming paradigm, and native mobile app development including the use of Kotlin, RxJava.
• You have a working knowledge of several architectural approaches, design, caching, data storage and security; and unit testing and UI test frameworks.
• UI/UX design experience making apps work and with pixel perfect interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with CI pipelines & mobile apps build systems.
• You also have a collaborative attitude, because \'Your Problem Is My Problem\' (YPIMP).
• CS fundamentals (with competencies in algorithms and data structures).
• A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related fields.
