The Role: Senior Specialist, Financial Accounting
The Location: Penang, Malaysia
The Grade Level (internals only): 09
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for General Ledger responsibilities ensuring smooth financial month end closing and reporting to Corporate
- Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Key contact and resolution point for accounting close queries, business partnering with a local team as well as different business units\' finance counterparts.
- Support internal & external audit queries, corporate income tax and indirect tax (eg. GST/VAT, Withholding etc) filing and any other local statutory compliance filing as applicable.
- Ensure full compliance to finance and corporate policies.
- Prepare and provide information required for corporate reporting and other ad-hoc reports (including government survey) accurately and timely.
- Integrate and continuously improve accounting / close process integration & improvement
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or professional accounting qualifications.
- Good knowledge of accounting standard, procedures and principles (US GAAP & Local GAAP)
- Minimum 5 years of finance and accounting experience
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products, experience in SAP/Oracle is added advantage
- High level of integrity and sense of responsibility with commitment to good governance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with people at all levels
