Get to know the Role

As a tech curriculum developer, you will focus on developing technical training and curriculums for internal globally distributed product teams across engineering, product management, design/UX, and data science and analytics. Product engineering teams at Grab work on mission-critical initiatives where delivery and team performance align closely with customer and business impact. We underscore the importance of employee training at all stages, whether it's onboarding or continuous learning. Your goal is to equip our teams with the necessary tech skills and knowledge through technical learning and development.

Entrenched in the engineering teams, you will not only develop courseware and curriculums to accommodate different learning styles but also devise means of measuring the impact of training. Join us on this fast-paced journey as we embark on new and ambitious initiatives.

The Day-to-Day Activities:

As a Senior Tech Curriculum Developer, you are expected to:

Work closely with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to assess strategic learning and development needs, and help define and shape technical learning and development curriculums and programs for Grab engineers.

Design and develop innovative learning solutions applying adult learning principles and systematic instructional design to guide rapid learning while engaging with a high level of participation.

Develop technical/engineering learning content that fits the needs of the learner including on-demand e-learning courses, virtual instructor-led training as well as classroom and blended learning materials.

Program manage the creation and distribution of technical course content including developing exercises, tutorials, job aids, assessments, and other methods of learning including social or connected learning strategies, and multimedia-based assets.

Demonstrate a high degree of self-sufficiency and independent judgment to lead projects end-to-end from gathering requirements, planning content, to developing programs and measuring their effectiveness. .

Be conversant in code to be able to write small code snippets, build sample code applications for training and test hands-on coding tutorials.

Contribute to the design and development of new learning models, LMS tools, and content design templates.

Coordinate and evaluate courseware developed by other team members and deliver training, when necessary.

The Must-Haves:

The ideal candidate should have the following:

4+ years adult education experience (as teacher or curriculum developer).

4+ years experience in software engineering.

Experienced in technical writing or instructional design.

Demonstrated knowledge of leading-edge training platforms, technologies, and content creation tools (work samples required).

A self-starter with a start-up attitude - willing to work hard and take initiative to get things done in a highly-ambiguous and a fast paced environment.

Outstanding problem-solving ability and a demonstration of enthusiasm, initiative, and the ability to learn fast.

Exceptional presentation, facilitation and written skills with advanced grammar knowledge.

Experience working with geographically distributed teams.

Passionate about promoting a culture of continuous learning.

The Nice-to-Haves:

Bachelor's degree in computer science is a plus.

Strong knowledge of the latest technologies in developing scalable distributed systems across backend, mobile, web development.
