Responsibilities:
Handles customer enquiries and provide technical advice regarding self-clinching fasteners applications,
Answers enquires pertaining to declarations on raw material according to the various compliance requirements i.e. RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals Statements etc.
Recommending and designing special products and/or recommend fasteners solutions that meet customers' requirements.
Responsible for documenting on SalesForce platform for activities related to the design in of products and any other critical contacts or meetings excerpts.
To participate and coordinate customer's samples testing with factory team and provide relevant reports to customer requirements and expectations.
Required to review engineering drawings and liaise with customers on clarifications where needed.
Updating cross references of customer part number or competition part number against our company on a shared platform.
Distribute and/or follow up on New Product Bulletins given to customers and distributors for product awareness. Review any technical inaccuracies, errors and suggest improvements to corporate marketing team if any.
Requires travelling to customer premises or participate via online meetings to engage with customers on any technical complaints or technical application discussions.
Supports Sales team/other region Field Applications Engineers on technical matter.
Provide or support in training of new hires within the company or our distribution network.
Plan for mini road shows at customer premise to display PEM products and application solutions to attract customer interests.
To assist Sales and Marketing team in planning and setting up of exhibitions in respective regions.
Attend frequent internal meetings online on various subjects from market segment updates, New Products Introduction etc. After office hours participation is expected due to global regions participation.
Involvement in budgeting of expenses and capital expenses for FAE department.
Quality (First Responder Role)
Coordinating all QA activities (RMA, corrective reports, sorting, expenditures) with customer and factory on assigned territories.
Responsible to liaise with customer on quality issues as first level of response. Where possible or viable, visit customer sites and be on site to help resolve and address the issue.
To recommend purchases of equipment for Field Applications Department that will help to improve the capabilities in Field Applications Engineering.
To participate in ISO 9001:2015 system refresh and update of its relevant written process and procedures.
Coordinate, liaise and submission of IMDS and MSDS documents etc. with customers and manufacturing sites.
Liaising and submission of products qualification documents requests by customers i.e. PPAP from manufacturing sites.
To prepare and compile Excel data or PowerPoint presentation related to quality issues of the region if required on weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly for management review.
Evidence based year-end reporting to Head of Department/management of the performance of individual KPIs.
Requirements:
Min. bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering/Mechatronics/Industrial Engineering.
Preferably at least 2 years' experience with mechanical fasteners applications use or 5 years' experience in sheet metal fabrication process.
Experience with Automotive/Datacom Equipment/Consumer Electronics/Telecom Equipment OEMs is an added advantage.
