About the role
We are looking for a talented Senior Technology Systems Engineer/ Technology Systems Engineer to join our Technology Development team, to support the product design in optimizing the aerodynamic performance, heating performance, illumination performance and other others of our Environment Care products. You will use a mixture of test, simulation, and engineering judgement to solve the problems that arise as we develop our technologies and products. You will work from the very early stages of a project, taking responsibility of development when the technologies leave the research stage, developing them to a feasible solution and then supporting our SEA counterparts to take them through to production.
The Senior Technology Systems Engineer will be responsible for development of multiple technologies in Dyson Environment Care category products. The role and responsibilities include:
Manage technical risk (Aerodynamics, Thermal, Illumination) in projects. Work within a project team to deliver new products.
Drive designs forward and ensure correct decisions are made at all stages of the design process through experimental validation and other relevant analysis methods
Provide and co-ordinate analytical support to new and existing products.
Deliver concise accurate results - these maybe through computational simulation, a hand calculation, or an experimental test.
Carry out design simulation and statistical analysis for technical risk assessment and performances result.
Review failures and communicates proposed solutions/improvement plan to the members of RDD including senior managers and directors.
Liaise with cross functional teams such as Design Engineering, Test, Safety & Compliance and Operation teams on specifications and testing requirements in accordance with Dyson standards
Liaise with development teams to ensure an effective transfer of technology into our product range.
Provide production support to Operations team such as production test system design review and defining the specification limit of the test system.
Promote the design best practice that optimized the Aerodynamics, Aero-acoustic and Thermal design
Identify and develop new opportunities / tools / methods with the aim of enhancing the performance, reliability and time to market of Dyson products.
Lead project technical reviews, technical studies and perform six sigma-based projects
Reports to Technology System Leader/ Engineering Manager on project deliverable status and technical risk
About you
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
A minimum 2nd class upper Degree/Masters in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics (or other relevant engineering disciplines)
A minimum 5 years\' experience working in industry
Previous experiences in heater element, lighting, sensors development and flow performance related simulation.
A good working knowledge of fundamental aerodynamics, and thermodynamics. Experience with hands-on testing is (eg. wind-tunnel, thermal measurement) preferred.
A good understanding of the principles and application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Experience with commercial CFD software package (eg. ANSYS Fluent) is essential.
Competence in the use and application of CAD/CAE tools in general but specifically the UG, SOLIDWORKS and ANSYS suite of products.
Experience in hardware and software for measurement and data acquisition (e.g. National Instruments modules, MATLAB, Labview etc.) is preferred.
Intermediate skill level and above in MS Office (Excel, Project, Power Point) package usage.
High levels of initiative and self-motivation.
Good analytical ability and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate appropriate, concise and accurate information in written and verbal format.

Confident leading meetings, presentations, and ability to evaluate technical problems to ensure clear direction
Be able to multi-task and plan effectively when working with a variety of project teams in an often high-pressure, competitive environment
Hands on practical workshop skill and good knowledge on PMP tool
Advance skill level in Six Sigma tools and methodology
Advance skill level in MS Office (Including Excel, Project and Visio) package usage
Advance skill level in product lifecycle management software (SIEMENS PLM)
Advance skill level in CAD tools such as SIEMENS NX, Unigraphics
Advance skill level in simulation tool such as ANSYS Fluent (Including others within ANSYS Workbench Suite)
Advance skill level in Matlab, Simulink and Simscape
