Primarily responsible for the monitoring, administration and maintenance of all Global Windows-based server instances. This will include responding to support for end user issues on Windows servers, active directory, Exchange and overall problem management responsibilities. In addition, this individual will be responsible for supporting installation and deployment of server administration/management software applications and patch management on those servers. Responsibility also includes consolidation or migration of services in Windows platform.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Active Directory & Exchange Management

  • Monitor and maintain Active Directory and Exchange servers for performance, efficiency and security. This will include overall domain ownership, maintenance of structure, and maintenance of Group Policy Objects. Regular patch management and Change Management responsibilities as required.


Capacity & Configuration Management
  • Support processes to ensure capacity monitoring is in place for server performance & storage components.
  • Support inventory and configuration management objectives for data center system infrastructure, software installations, licensing and additional peripherals.
  • Ensure that all operational processes are clearly documented and centrally maintained.Content Integrity & Log Monitoring
  • Ensure proper configuration and log monitoring for Security and operational fault/warning situations. This includes network security logs, file access, firewall logs, and remote access. Develop and maintain regular reports and alerting for designated system logs.
  • Work with vendors to configure and enhance 3rdparty tools
  • .End User Support: Assist with ongoing deployment and support of end user IT configurations. This will entail coordinating efforts with other staff members in order to meet users\xe2\x80\x99 needs. In addition, a great amount of communication with the user will be necessary.


Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or higher in Computer science, Information Technology or Engineering with 5+ years of administering, supporting production and development Windows server 2003, 2008, 2012 connected to SAN and NAS disk storage systems
  • Experience in implementing and supporting windows systems in a highly available clustered environment and applying industry best practices to ensure their ongoing health
  • Experience in standard IT process frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT or MOF that address management, development procedures, change control, release management, operational predictability, performance management, governance and compliance.


Additional Credentials and/or Skills:
  • Windows server 2003, 2008 & 2012 experience and certification
  • Symantec enterprise Vault
  • Microsoft Exchange 2010 or higher
  • PowerShell scripting
  • Active Directory 2003/2008/2012
  • VMware 6.0 or higher


Skills Required:
  • User Support Skills, Hardware Troubleshooting, MCSE, MCP, Software Installation/Configuration, Applications Administrator - CM, Database Administrator
  • Possess excellent verbal and written skills and be able to work with end users, team members and contractors.
  • Based in Penang, Malaysia facility and be able to travel to other Microchip global locations including the USA
  • Well-developed emotional intelligence skills in the key areas of self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, innovation, empathy and social skills.
