RESPONSIBILITY & DUTIES
- Assist the PIC in flight preparation and provide the relevant information.
- Assist the PIC in preparing the operational and ATS flight plans, sign when applicable and file the ATS flight plan with the appropriate ATS unit.
- Responsible for generating operational flight plan (OFP) under his control according to company route provided through Ops Bulletin.
- Evaluate relative cost of fuel at various stations which is updated in the Flight Planning SITA Aircom System. For navigation team to plan the optimum fuel uplift.
- Regularly update summary of NOTAMS for the area of operations and to update OCC on NOTAMS that will affect Batik Air\xe2\x80\x99s daily operations.
- To update the Duty Dispatcher with the present and forecast weather in his area of responsibility. To advise PIC of weather information that may affect the flight. When the PIC request weather information from dispatcher, the dispatcher shall update immediately.
- To check/monitor Typhoon warning and volcanic Activity and ensure dispatch is plan accordingly to affected areas and update OCC accordingly.
- Furnish the PIC while in flight, by appropriate means, with information which may be necessary for the safe conduct of the flight.
- Monitor the movement of the company fleet and stay informed about delays and diversion and take steps to instigate disruption to flying program with the coordination of OCC DM.
- To be current, in navigational facilities in their areas for use during crew briefing.
- To keep OCC DM/ADM informed of plans for normal or non-routine flights in their area of responsibility.
- To inform OCC DM of possible or actual operational issues as far in advance as possible, and shall supplement the information as conditions change.
- To ensure a stand in (replacement) with proper briefing before leaving the workstation for any reason.
- Initiate such procedures as outlined in the OM while avoiding taking any action that would conflict with ATC procedures.
- To convey safety-related information to the PIC that may be necessary for the safe conduct of the flight, including information related to any amendments to the flight plans / weather that becomes necessary in the course of the flight.
- Minimum Diploma or STPM/SPM holder.
- Able to read, write & communicate in the English language.
- Have satisfactorily completed Basic and Advanced Flight Dispatcher certificate by Jeppesen.
- Experienced Ex-Flight Dispatcher with Batik Air (Previously Malindo Air) or as a Flight Dispatcher with other airlines is an added advantage.
- Able to work independently on tight deadlines, independent, fast learner, and able to multitask in an OCC environment.
- Able to work in shifts.
- Computer literate and able to handle SITA/NAVBLUE Flight Planning planning system.
- Ara Damansara: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
