Sports Direct Malaysia is currently looking for Shop Manager for Mid Valley Southkey, Johor Bahru to join our growing team.
Malaysia marks the first direct retail investment in Asia through a joint venture partnership with Malaysian owned MST Golf Group of companies, a well-established golf retailer and service provider in the region. Sports Direct Malaysia currently operates a total of 32 retail stores domestically and manages a proprietary SportsDirect.com e-commerce site for domestic and regional fulfillment. The company employs 1200 staff with a view to expanding rapidly across Asia in the coming years.
We have developed a new generation of stores as part of our multi channel elevation strategy, to enhance the customer experience at every step of the journey. Our focus is on presenting an unrivalled range of quality products at excellent value in a modern spacious environment. The stores are uniquely zoned by key sports categories which include; SD Football, SD Running, SD Training (fitness, cross training, gym equipment, weights, boxing, yoga), SD Rackets (badminton, tennis, squash), SD Swimming (pool, beach, water sports), SD Sports (basketball, rugby, extreme games, cycling, skates & indoor games), SD Lifestyle (Men, Women & Kids) & SD Outdoor (Hiking, trekking, camping & fishing).
\xc2\xb7 Review and keep track of sales (set daily target and ensure achievement of sales target).
\xc2\xb7 Reports to Area Manager on staff performance and sales/shop performance.
\xc2\xb7 Lead/manage a team of retail staff to produce the best performance.
\xc2\xb7 Handle the overall shop operations and ensure consistency in the standard of retail operations.
\xc2\xb7 Review staff strength and delegate of duties accordingly.
\xc2\xb7 Liaise/follow up with HQ on stocks support.
\xc2\xb7 Implement/execute sales & promotion plans.
\xc2\xb7 Maintain and keep check of quality customer service from staff.
\xc2\xb7 Provide feedback on stocks, customers and market situation to HQ.
\xc2\xb7 Responsible to increase/build clientele (database) to increase regular customers.
\xc2\xb7 Monitor/conduct training to staff (sales and supervisory).
\xc2\xb7 Any other assignment as directed by immediate superior as and when required.
Qualifications
\xc2\xb7 At least a Certificate/Diploma or Degree in any related field of study.
\xc2\xb7 At least 5 - 7 years working experience in the retail industry
\xc2\xb7 Preferably shop managers specializing in Sales - Retail/General or equivalent.
\xc2\xb7 Have passion and knowledge in sports is an advantage.
\xc2\xb7 Good customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
\xc2\xb7 Willing to work long hours, weekends, public holidays and shift duty.
