As part of the Optics Supply Chain Engineering Organization, the Optical Product Engineering Team is seeking a Product Engineer to support new product introduction of the Optical Subsystem products at out EMS Jabil Penang and other subcomponent vendors. This local PE will work with PE team in Vimercate and R&D team in Nuremburg, New York and Sunnyvale, to introduce new products at the EMS by ensuring the designs are manufacturable and that all associated documentation is complete and correct. In addition, the product engineer will provide sustaining support to mass production ensuring the NOKIA quality, yield and delivery requirements for the product are met.

As part of our team, you will:

  • Work with Jabil and other subcomponent suppliers to understand their DFX requirements.
  • Engage R&D to close any DFX issues.
  • Drive technical activities to ensure supply chain readiness.
  • Work with manufacturers, supply chain and development to address FMAs and associated SCARs.
  • Manage and execute the prototype and preserie plan.
  • Support the materials procurement to assure the models delivery schedule.
  • Manage the ECO implementation, issue and manage DCO.
  • Coordinate technical and/or industrial qualification build (PVT) at EMS.
  • Monitor quality performance at EMS and field and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Work with the EMS and Development to address any yield issues.
  • Support EMS with product manufacturing technical issue and address all the technology issue leveraging the NOKIA relevant resources.
  • Attend and proactively contribute to the dedicated Quality Working Group and Tiger Team.
  • Analyze root cause issues related to projects, recommends and drives corrective action plans.
  • Assures best practices are defined and followed at EMS.
  • Ensure that the most cost-effective manufacturing processes and procedures are used.
  • Ability to work in a technical lead role independently and with global cross-functional teams.

Your skills and experience

You have:
  • BS Engineering
  • Basic knowledge of the electronic component manufacturing from wafer to die fabrication and flip chip attach.
  • Basic knowledge of the electronic assembly technology from SMT process to mechanical assemblies and optical fiber splicing.
  • Demonstrated Ability to work in team environment.
  • Experience in Process Documentation.
  • Organizational and communications skills (strong verbal and written English), ability to interface with all levels within NOKIA.
  • Excellent planning skills with strong Project and Program management background.
  • Accountable for decisions and actions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proven proficiency across multiple disciplines and or technologies.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of production process.
  • Fluent in business processes and best practices.
It would be nice if you also had:
  • Knowledge of Optical Products.
  • Knowledge of PDM@ALU or other Product Data Management tool.
  • 5+ years of experience with wafer thought optics module manufacturing.
