Role Overview:


The Financial Coconut is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Writer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for creating engaging and well-researched content for our social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and for our blog.

The role requires a passion for finance, career development, and personal growth, with a strong ability to research and communicate complex topics in an engaging yet professional tone for our Singaporean audience.

Additionally, the ideal candidate must have the ability to design their own posts using tools like Canva and optimise content for maximum reach and engagement across all platforms.

Key Responsibilities:



Content Creation:

Research and write articles for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn), transforming them into carousel posts, short-form content, and visuals that resonate with our audience.

Design Posts:

Design engaging, visually appealing social media posts using tools like Canva to accompany written content. Posts should be aligned with The Financial Coconut's brand identity and tailored for each platform.

Blog Writing:

Adapt social media content into comprehensive blog posts for The Financial Coconut website, ensuring articles are well-structured, insightful, and optimised for SEO to improve searchability on Google and other search engines.

SEO Optimisation:

Ensure all content, both social media and blog posts, is optimised for search engines. This includes incorporating relevant keywords, using effective meta descriptions, and applying SEO best practices to help improve organic traffic.

Research:

Stay updated on trending topics related to personal finance, career development, and recovery, specifically focusing on developments in Singapore and the wider global context (e.g., CPF updates, SGX news, wage trends, cost of living, etc.).

Use of AI Tools:

Leverage AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.) to support the content creation process, but ensure accuracy and clarity in all written work. You must be diligent in cross-checking all facts and sources to avoid misinformation or hallucinations from AI-generated content.

Transcription and Content Simplification:

Review and convert podcast episodes from The Financial Coconut (TFC)into clear, engaging content for social media, ensuring it resonates with the audience while maintaining the essence of the conversation.

Captions:

Craft detailed and insightful captions for all social media posts that complement the data or story presented, engaging the audience and sparking conversation.

Post Scheduling:

Manage and schedule social media posts for publishing, ensuring content is released at optimal times for maximum engagement across all platforms.

Client Projects:

From time to time, assist with client projects by creating branded social media posts that align with client objectives, messaging, and angles. This may include working closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver content that reflects their brand.

Attention to Detail:

Proofread and verify all written content thoroughly to ensure accuracy, ensuring all data and references are correct. The content must be well-researched, fact-checked, and aligned with brand guidelines before publication.

Requirements:



Experience:

Minimum of 2 years' experience as a writer, preferably in social media content creation, journalism, or blogging, with a strong focus on writing in

the English language

.

Strong Writing Skills:

Proficient in writing for a variety of formats, including social media captions, carousel posts, blog articles, and long-form content. Ability to craft detailed, insightful, and engaging captions for social media posts.

Design Skills:

Proficient in using design tools like Canva to create visually appealing posts that complement written content. Experience in designing for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other social platforms is preferred.

SEO Familiarity:

Experience with SEO best practices for both blog posts and social media content. Ability to optimise posts for searchability and implement keywords and SEO strategies to increase organic traffic.

AI Familiarity:

Comfortable using AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity for content ideation and drafting. Ability to guide and refine AI-generated content to meet our high editorial standards.

Research Proficiency:

Strong research skills, particularly in finance, career topics, and personal development. Familiarity with trends in Singapore's financial landscape (CPF, SGX, cost of living, etc.) and global financial markets is a bonus.

Audience Understanding:

Ability to write for a

Singaporean audience

while considering the broader context of the global workforce, especially for topics related to remote work, financial trends, and career development.

Attention to Detail:

High level of attention to detail, with a commitment to fact-checking and ensuring all content is accurate and trustworthy.

Remote Work:

Comfortable working remotely, with strong time management skills and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.

Professional Tone:

Ability to write with a professional tone while maintaining a conversational, relatable style that resonates with our audience.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
