Software Engineer Manager Role At Oil & Gas Company - Onsite, Sabah & Sarawak Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of software engineers. Oversee the development of clean, high-quality, high-performance, and maintainable code. Manage software development projects, ensuring alignment with industry standards and business objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geologists, drilling engineers, and business analysts, to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. Lead the development of prototypes to validate design concepts and technical constraints, considering the specific needs of the oil and gas sector. Foster code reviews and mentoring to ensure code quality and best practices are followed. Promote test-driven development and continuous integration practices. Benchmark application code to mitigate performance and scalability issues. Mentor and coach junior software engineers, fostering their professional development and leadership skills. Basic Qualifications: 7+ years of professional experience building software. Bachelor\'s degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Proficiency in programming using C# .NET or similar object-oriented language. Knowledge of regulatory compliance in the oil and gas industry. Preferred Skills and Experience: Expertise in designing software systems. Experience in profiling and improving application performance. Front-end experience in Angular, React, or similar JavaScript frameworks. Back-end experience in Node.js or similar JavaScript frameworks. Database experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, or similar database technologies. Familiarity with Agile and/or Scrum software development methodologies. Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations within the oil and gas sector.
