The Software Product Manager is responsible for aligning business goals with technology solutions, leading end-to-end product development, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring all products meet regulatory standards within Malaysia's automotive finance sector. The role drives product strategy, oversees Agile delivery, and collaborates with internal and external partners to enhance user experience and support business growth.
Responsibilities
I. Communication and Collaboration
1. Serve as a liaison between business and IT development teams, fostering effective communication, driving iterative product enhancements, and enabling business growth in Malaysia's automotive finance market.
2. Promote cross-departmental teamwork to achieve seamless alignment between IT solutions and operational processes.
3. Offer IT-driven insights and assistances to business units, boosting overall efficiency.
II. Project and Related Partner Management
1. Monitor the full project lifecycle from inception to completion, encompassing planning, implementation, oversight, and handover, while adhering to schedules and objectives.
2. Guide agile methodologies, including sprint coordination, backlog prioritization, and user acceptance validation.
3. Spearhead the assessment and adoption of diverse delivery strategies, such as in-house builds, vendor sourcing, and blended models.
4. Draw on expertise in key suppliers and competitor platforms across China and Malaysia to shape strategic choices and cultivate partnerships.
III. Market Analysis and Product Design
1. Undertake market studies and competitor benchmarking to pinpoint avenues for product refinement.
2. Uncover operational challenges, partner with business teams to elicit and organize requirements, conduct systematic evaluations to develop functional frameworks, prototype user interfaces, delineate scope, and produce detailed product specifications.
3. Collaborate with designers on interface layouts, overarching and granular interactions, continually advancing the user experience.
4. Brief development and testing personnel on requirement blueprints, ensuring comprehensive comprehension among all team roles.
5. Work alongside technical leads to direct developers in executing per design guidelines, troubleshooting implementation hurdles in coding.
6. Evaluate test scenarios, instruct testers on alignment with design artifacts, and clarify any design ambiguities during validation.
7. Handle versioning of product features and establish priority rankings.
IV. Budget Management
1. Prepare and administer budgets for product development, streamlining resource utilization.
V. Compliance Management
1. Guarantee that all initiatives, operations, and systems align with Malaysian financial regulations, data protection frameworks (e.g., PDPA), and standards in the automotive finance sector.
Requirements
Academic Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
