The Opportunity

Grass Valley is currently seeking a talented Software QA Engineer. This position will be reporting to the Software QA Manager.

As an Automation Software QA Engineer, you will perform primarily automated testing on industry-leading products and establish test plans and test cases for broadcast video on hardware and software platforms. You will participate in automation from test design, optimizing testing framework to integration with build/continuous integration tools. The engineer is expected to work closely with the software development and test team in providing root cause analysis and solution for the issues reported internally or by customers.

Your Role

• Participate or lead design of automated test framework and strategies;
• Work closely with SCRUM teams to develop and execute automation scripts;
• Work with tools such as Protractor, Selenium, TestComplete, Gatling, Visual Studio Enterprise;
• Provide technical guidance to testers;
• Take part in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle in an Agile (SCRUM) environment;
• Have a thorough understanding of software testing methods;
• Execute performance, scalability, functional and regression testing;
• Design, develop and maintain test plans and test cases;
• Document defects found using a bug tracking system and follow issues to resolution;
• Track and analyse test results, take corrective action and update statuses;
• Interact with development team during all stages of projects;
• Investigate performance and stability issues involving a large, sophisticated, and evolving set of code bases.

\xe2\x80\x8bWhat you Have to Offer

Education:

Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering

Experience:

3 to 6 years of experience in software testing, either automated and/or manual, preferred. Must have hands-on experience in building automated tests or test framework. This is a technical position involving code writing to address quality issues in test automation.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• strong analytical skills to translate system requirements and use cases into detailed test cases,
• preferred experience in working with Windows application software,
• fundamental networking knowledge or skills, inlcuding LAN configuration, Domain, Active Directory, Routing and Switching,
• Knowledge of virtualisation and data storage, with VMware experience preferred,
• Ability to react quickly and adapt to changes in priorities, circumstances, and direction,
• ability to exercise judgment with minimal supervision,
• Excellent written and oral communication skills,
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities,
• Self-starter with a strong initiative for success
