Sourcing Assistant

Job Description

Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability criteria; Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best possible deals; Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify potential new suppliers and products; Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers; Collaborate with the design and production teams to understand product requirements and specifications; Place orders and ensure timely delivery of products and materials to meet production schedules; Conduct quality checks on received products and materials to ensure they meet company standards; Manage inventory levels and forecast demand to avoid stockouts and overstock situations; Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory, and supplier performance; Prepare and present regular reports on sourcing and purchasing activities, including cost analysis and supplier performance; Resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing with suppliers; Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations; Perform any other duties as directed by management.

Requirements:



Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Proven experience in sourcing and purchasing, preferably in the fashion retail industry; Strong negotiation and communication skills; Excellent organisational and time management skills; Ability to analyse market trends and supplier performance; Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management software; Good understanding of quality control procedures; Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; Must possess own transport and be willing to travel locally and internationally as required; Proficiency in English and at least one other language (e.g., Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese) is preferred.
