Objectives of the Position

You will join our team as a DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management (DDI) expert. In BASF over 110.000 colleagues, from hundreds of sites all over the globe, are generating double digit billion sales yearly. Our DNS/DHCP team holds end to end accountability for the global DDI solution of this environment. We evolve our solution on premise as well as in cloud environments and ensure state of the art cyber security.

Main Tasks

• Create and develop the global product strategy, architecture, and solution design

• Determine tools to use (product architecture)
• Determine how to run the service (delivery model)
• Determine how to integrate public, on-premise and cloud based DNS solutions (solution design)
• Identify and fulfill the needs towards Cybersecurity (e.g. DNSSec, Cisco Umbrella etc.)
• Manage several providers that play a role in the delivery of the service
• Incident Management: Level 3 support for troubleshooting and fixing related incidents, with the help of our End-to-end monitoring and visibility tools
• Continuous Service improvement: be proactive and improve the quality of DDI services
• Contribute in meetings to support the Internal Business Partner and their different use cases
• Contribute in infrastructure projects to further develop and improve the BASF environment
• Actively seek and keep contact with your colleagues across the globe and supporting the regional point of contact in day-to-day activities with business partners and customers

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Computer Science, informatics, business informatics or in a comparable field

Working Experience

• Minimum 5+ years job experience in security operations within mid & large-size enterprise environments. Technical career preferably in information technologies, telecommunications technologies, process control technology or communication technologies

Technical & Professional Knowledge

Mandatory Skill sets

• In-depth expertise of DNS namespace structures and the mechanisms behind DNS and DHCP
• DDI based on VitalQIP/Infoblox or similar enterprise-class DDI solutions
• AD-integrated DNS experience is not sufficient, but knowledge about interfacing between AD and DDI solutions (like record propagation) is desirable.
• IP Address Management expertise (structure the IP namespace of BASF, evolve BASF\'s processes for IP address management)
• Professional written and spoken English skills mandatory
• Operational vendor management expertise

Nice to Have skills

Cisco Umbrella or similar

Experience in cloud-based DNS solutions (Azure, AWS, Alibaba) and ideally with interfacing on-premises with cloud-based DNS structures

Programming languages for scripting and automation purposes

Good ability to gain competence in new assignment areas quickly and independently covering new technologies, methods and skills is essential

Extraordinary analytical thinking, architectural and troubleshooting skills

Out of the box thinking to understand and eliminate complexity and to find innovative solutions for complex problems

Able to work as part of a globally spread, virtual team.

Strong will and ability to communicate within and outside the team, with end users, is key.
