General Summary Of Position This role will be responsible for performance management support for all non-manager level employees inclusive of foreign workers as well as union-members through the collective agreement. The scope will include managing employee relations interactions, handling of grievances and disciplinary responsibilities, and management of the employees welfare issues and concerns. What would your role look like Reporting to Manager, HR, you will be: Acts as first point of contact for employees for performance management and employee relations issues for all non-managerial level employees. Provide advice, counsel and resolution to supervisors on a broad range of employee issues including general HR issues, policy interpretation, work conditions, grievances and disciplinary handling. Provide guidance and support in resolution of employee relations issues and conducts investigations as necessary. Confers with and/or advises supervisors regarding interpretation of policies and/or processes; provides guidance to supervisors to ensure compliance with Company laws and regulations. Reviews, maintains and propose annual Collective Agreement with Union members. Communicates changes and updates to the workforce and provides briefing when appropriate on matters related to local employment laws and Union practices. Assists in investigation and resolution of associate legal complaints and coordinates processes for responding to legal complaints by working with corporate counsel. Meets with management to discuss possible action steps to resolve legal relations issues. Follows up with legal to determine reactions to specific legal actions taken; prepares documentation and analysis of comments and actions taken as and when necessary by legal. Participates in ad-hoc projects and performs additional duties as required. Manage the welfare of all non-managerial employees inclusive of employee events coordination and arrangement and employee communications. Assist Human Resource Manager in preparing budget for human resources operations Assist Human Resource Manager to ensure the performance review and appraisal of employees\' work in full-cycle and in accordance to guidelines Other ad-hoc duties may be assigned when necessary What you will bring: Education Bachelor\'s degree in business, human resources, or related field; Equivalent education, work experience, knowledge and skills may qualify. Job Experience Above 5 years of progressive responsibility in employee relations, performance management and/or a human resource generalist role. Managed unionized workforce through Collective Bargaining/Agreements is preferred. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of HR best practices and/or experience with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Process Improvement or Performance Excellence Initiatives. System knowledge and experience in Oracle or similar HRIS platform is preferred. Possess clear understanding of local employment and industrial laws, inclusive of foreign workers rules and regulations. Desirable Job Competencies Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Applications. Excellent customer service skills (external and/or internal). Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia. Displays cooperation and performs as an active and supportive team player. Demonstrated dependability and reliability. Excellent planning and organization skills. Ability to use time effectively and efficiently while managing multiple priorities. Ability to work in a fast paced and continuously changing environment. Effective problem solving skills. Additional Requirements (travel, etc.) Able to travel on ad-hoc basis as and when there is a requirement for process submission, application and/or negotiation on matters related to foreign workers management.
