Together, we\'re the next big thing in data.Western Digital\xc2\xae data-centric solutions are found under the G-Technology\xe2\x84\xa2, HGST, SanDisk\xc2\xae, Tegile\xe2\x84\xa2, Upthere\xe2\x84\xa2, and WD\xc2\xae brands.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\xc2\xb7 Analyze, understand and document development requirements of product designs\xc2\xb7 Carry out detailed electronic circuit design, including simulation\xc2\xb7 Design and implement electronics design by selecting components, schematic design and perform PCB layout as well as integrate and test the hardware platform.\xc2\xb7 Conduct product verification against defined hardware specification, prepare design documentation and support design transition to manufacturing as necessary.\xc2\xb7 Assume technical lead role in project as necessary to provide the technical direction, technical decision and risk mitigation.\xc2\xb7 Identify opportunity to improve within the functional team and participate in improvement activities.\xc2\xb7 Create and maintain BOMs of the new designs\xc2\xb7 Select new electronic parts, taking into consideration: obsolescence, availability and cost\xc2\xb7 Perform and evaluate costing studies meeting the costing targets\xc2\xb7 Liaise with project manager and a cross functional team to produce prototypes.\xc2\xb7 Perform design FMEA to reduce risks of performance failures.\xc2\xb7 Create & maintain technical documentation (schematics, specifications, performance, and bring-up reports)\xc2\xb7 Work in a team for continuous development and improvement of products / parts / firmware.Qualifications\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or relevant courses, Master\'s or PhD preferred\xc2\xb7 Experience in detailed design with schematic capture until PCB layout using industry standard EDA tools (Cadence, Mentor Graphics, etc.)\xc2\xb7 Min 5-10 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.\xc2\xb7 Work independently with minimum supervision\xc2\xb7 Excellent English communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills\xc2\xb7 Good team work, willing to learn, logical thinker and able to work under pressure\xc2\xb7 Self motivated and result oriented.Skills & Abilities:\xc2\xb7 Able to work independently and possess independent thinking ability.\xc2\xb7 Possess strong learning agility and passionate in mastering the embedded hardware architecture design.\xc2\xb7 Passionate in developing product that meets product requirements and customer expectations.\xc2\xb7 Strong computer skills, decision making, problem solving and excellent verbal / written communication skills.\xc2\xb7 Ability to work in a cross-functional and cross-cultural team environment.\xc2\xb7 Possess the skill and passion to mentor junior engineers.Additional InformationBecause Western Digital thrives on the power of diversity and is committed to an inclusive environment where every individual can thrive through a sense of belonging, respect, and contribution, we are committed to giving every qualified applicant and employee an equal opportunity.
