POSITION SUMMARY:

A Specialist Clinic nurse is responsible for the overall care of patients seeking treatment at Specialist Clinic. To ensure the treatment are given immediately after ordered by the Specialist.

This position reports directly to the Head of Outpatient Specialist.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Critical thinking skills required. Assessing the condition of patient and vital signs and responds appropriately and documents in Electric Track care system before seen by specialist or refer to Emergency Department for immediate treatment. Carry out observations, investigations and treatments as ordered by doctor. Administering emergency procedures e.g. code blue and CPR. Able to do special procedures, such as dressing, inserting I/V line, blood taking and etc. Chaperoning and assisting specialists during procedures or reviewing patients at clinic. Ensure the correct guidelines are followed in the labeling and transportation of specimens to avoid mistakes. Maintain an environment which prevents spread of infection. Always refer infection control policy as a guideline. To demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and to be accountable for own actions. To ensure that patients experience the highest level of service in line with policies and procedures AWCSH. 1Communicate with patients, relatives and staff in an open, friendly, clear, effective and helpful manner. Maintain patient confidentiality and protect their right to privacy. Ordering and monitoring disposable items and pharmacy stock. To ensure that used items are charged and supplies are adequate. Maintains competence in the safe use of necessary equipment Ensure equipment is in good working order. Report equipment malfunction and facilities issues to the Nurse Manager Report immediately, any negative feedback to the Nurse Manager/Team leader on duty and complete all relevant documentation. Maintain adequate communications with, and co-operate with, other units and Departments, in the care and treatment of patients. Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System. Attend all mandatory training sessions for fire, patient handling, etc. Attend Company/team staff meetings where possible. Organized clinic schedules. Updates job know knowledge by participating in every internal and external training organized by the company e.g. CNE and CME classes. Undertake additional courses to promote personal and professional development.
