INTRODUCTION



The service station manager's position is the heart of a service station operation. The candidate must fulfill multiple roles from leadership to personnel management in ensuring the smooth operation of a service station.

The candidate must have the following characteristics:

Pleasant disposition and articulation

Reasonably good command of Bahasa Melayu and English - written and spoken

Capable of leading a team

Honest and trustworthy

Have a passion for retail

Capable of using Microsoft Office applications in particular Excel

Resourceful and a self-starter

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION



The service station manager shall be responsible for the following:

1. WET STOCK MANAGEMENT

a. Ensuring daily reconciliation of fuels inventory vs sales

b. Supervising and reconciling fuel deliveries

2. DRY STOCK MANAGEMENT (Mart Products Management)

a. Ensuring dry stock control reconciliation

b. Conduct dry stock take as required

c. Ensuring compliance to the dry stock planogram

d. Ensuring proper merchandising of products

e. Managing dry stock vendors

f. Prepare dry stock sales report.

3. STAFF MANAGEMENT

a. Prepare and ensure monthly staff work schedule

b. Manage adequate staffing levels

c. Hiring of part timers

d. Training of new hires

e. Manage and supervise staff overtimes and incentives

f. Prepare staff monthly wages and claims

g. Enforce discipline and rules at work.

4. SERVICE STATION DAILY OPERATIONS

a. Prepare daily reconciliation reports for submission

b. Ensure cleanliness of service station surrounding and facilities to the established standards

c. Ensure compliance to the oil company operation standards

d. Ensuring adequate staff for daily operations

e. Ensure safety of operations

f. Ensure compliance to all local regulations including ensuring timely renewal of all licenses.

5. QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE

a. Ensure consistent customer service standards of all staff

b. Handle all customer complaints with timely escalation and resolution

c. Periodically engage with regular customers

d. Perform community outreach programs to the local community.

6. VENDOR MANAGEMENT

a. Process all invoices of vendors for timely payment

b. Provide feedback on performance of vendors

c. Building and ensuring a win-win relationship with the vendors.

7. CASH AND OPEX MANAGEMENT

a. Ensuring timely deposit of cash sales daily

b. Ensuring that and shortages and overages are determined immediately

c. Manage station petty cash ledger daily

d. Manage service station monthly operating expenditure within the budget given

e. Anticipate and report any increase of opex to the HQ

f. Develop the service station Opex budget.

8. FOOD SAFETY

a. Ensure food suppliers adhere to local regulations on food preparation and safety

b. Ensure food sold complies with local authorities' food guidelines including checking the halal certification of food suppliers

c. Ensure all food handlers are trained and certified.

9. MANAGING MARKETING PROGRAM

a. Initiate attractive marketing programs with the aim of increasing patronization and loyalty

b. Conduct simple market research of the fuels and convenience store market within the trade area

c. Execute any national marketing programs as prescribed by the oil company

d. Analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of each marketing program for future reference

REQUIREMENTS:

Min SPM holders

Those with a minimum 2 years of experience of working in a convenience retail environment can apply
