Job Description

Our client, a MNC manufacturer is hiring for Steam Engineer (Grade 1 or Grade 2) to be based at their factory in Sabah. You will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of steam boilers, turbines, and related equipment. You will work closely with the maintenance team to ensure efficient and safe operation of steam generation and distribution systems. Roles & Responsibilities: Conduct routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of steam boilers, turbines, and associated equipment to ensure their efficient and safe operation. Troubleshoot and repair any issues or breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize downtime. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies related to steam boilers, turbines, and other steam-related equipment. Keep up-to-date with the latest industry standards and best practices. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements. Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and equipment downtime. Coordinate with the maintenance team and other departments to schedule maintenance activities, prioritize tasks, and ensure smooth coordination of work. Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers or technicians as needed. Responsible to achieve assigned maintenance & operation KPIs, and meeting the maintenance budget. Follow safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and practices related to steam generation and distribution. Identify and propose improvements or modifications to existing steam generation and distribution systems to optimize performance, reduce energy consumption, and increase equipment lifespan. Respond to emergency situations, such as equipment failures, leaks, or other incidents, and take appropriate action to mitigate risks and ensure safety. Experience Requirements: Candidate must possess Bachelor\'s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, Steam or relevant background. Must possess Grade 1 or Grade 2 Steam Engineer certification from a recognized authority. Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Steam Engineer in an industrial background, with a focus on maintenance. Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards related to steam generation and distribution. Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse team.
