Perform inspections on steel structural works including fabrication, welding, cutting, assembly, and erection activities.
Verify compliance of structural components with engineering drawings, project specifications, method statements, and international codes (AWS D1.1, ASME, ISO 9001, etc.).
Conduct dimensional checks, alignment checks, bolt torque verification, and welding inspections (visual inspection, fit-up, weld size, weld quality).
Inspect surface preparation, coating, painting, and corrosion protection works according to approved specifications.
Monitor fabrication processes at workshop and installation activities at site.
2. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Corrective Actions Reports (CAR), and daily QAQC records.
Verify material traceability including Mill Test Certificates (MTC), heat numbers, and material identification before fabrication.
Ensure documentation accuracy for WPS/PQR/WPQ, bolt certificates, coating reports, and erection inspection records.
Assist in compiling final structural work dossiers for client handover.
3. Testing & Verification
Witness and verify relevant structural steel testing such as weld NDT (RT, UT, MT, PT), bolt tension tests, and coating thickness tests.
Coordinate with third-party inspectors for NDT and ensure compliance with approved testing plans.
Review and follow up on NDT reports and ensure corrective actions are taken where required.
4. Coordination & Compliance
Liaise with fabrication teams, erection teams, engineering, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues and technical queries.
Ensure site installation and workshop fabrication comply with quality standards, project quality plans, and statutory requirements.
Highlight deviations, quality deficiencies, and propose corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
5. HSE & Ad-Hoc Support
Ensure inspection activities comply with project HSE policies and safe work practices.
Participate in quality meetings, internal audits, and site surveillance inspections.
Perform any other QAQC-related tasks as assigned by the QAQC Manager or Project Manager.
