Job Description

A factory storekeeper's job scope involves receiving, storing, and issuing raw materials, components, and finished goods, maintaining accurate inventory records through regular stock checks and audits, and ensuring the store is organized, clean, and compliant with safety regulations. Key responsibilities include inspecting deliveries for damage or discrepancies, managing stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking, documenting all inventory transactions, and supporting production by ensuring timely availability of necessary supplies.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Inspection:

Receive incoming shipments of raw materials, components, or finished goods. Inspect deliveries for accuracy (matching purchase orders) and quality (checking for damage). Document all received items according to established procedures.

Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all stock, often using a computerized inventory system. Conduct regular stock checks, cycle counts, and full physical inventories to reconcile discrepancies. Manage stock levels, ensuring adequate supplies are available to meet production needs while preventing overstocking or stockouts. Implement stock rotation to manage inventory flow and remove expired or surplus items.

Storage & Organization:

Properly store items in designated locations, organizing shelves and storage areas for optimal space utilization and easy accessibility. Label all items clearly and maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment in compliance with safety regulations.

Issuing & Distribution:

Process requests and issue materials, tools, or finished goods to internal departments or customers. Record all stock movements, including issues, returns, and adjustments.

Reporting & Documentation:

Prepare accurate documentation and reports on stock levels, inventory movements, and any discrepancies or damaged goods. Report damages or shortages to supervisors for record-keeping and potential reimbursement.

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
