Position Title : Structural Engineering Manager

Tenure: Permanent

Remuneration: RM8,000 - RM15,000

Responsibilities

Structural Engineering Manager responsibilities will include performing and managing simple and complex analysis, design and documentation of various steel racking structures with emphasis on seismic pallet racking/structure, steel platform and mezzanines, structure replacements and rehabilitations as well as conducting field investigation and construction phase observation. The Senior Structural Engineer will also direct subordinate staff and assist with business development activities.

\xc2\xb7 Mentor Structural Engineers and facilitate a holistic understanding as to the scope and plan for projects

\xc2\xb7 Work closely with production engineering department within the company to ensure hardware is available for projects and working properly

\xc2\xb7 Define clear goals for all aspects of a project and develop steps for their proper execution

\xc2\xb7 Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including time and scope involved

\xc2\xb7 Account for possible project challenges or constraints and proactively seek to manage challenges

\xc2\xb7 Assist other department engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team

\xc2\xb7 Work alongside project management teams to successfully monitor progress and implementation of initiatives

\xc2\xb7 Establish a framework for necessary contributions from various departments and facilitate their collaboration

\xc2\xb7 Using computer modelling simulations to predict how structures will act under varying conditions, i.e. seismic or high winds

\xc2\xb7 Ensuring projects meet legal, environmental and health and safety standards

\xc2\xb7 Advising on suitable materials for racking structure design

\xc2\xb7 Inspecting buildings to assess their structural integrity

\xc2\xb7 Advising on racking repairs, maintenace or

\xc2\xb7 Preparing bids for tender

\xc2\xb7 Working with designers to develop construction plans and blueprints

\xc2\xb7 Improve manufacturing processes and advance scientific research.

\xc2\xb7 Develop overall concepts for a new product.

\xc2\xb7 Check technical accuracy of work.

\xc2\xb7 Establish administrative policies, procedures, and standards.

\xc2\xb7 Coordinate activities of division with other division/department/regional offices or organizations.

Requirement

\xc2\xb7 Experience developing schematics for structures in accordance with client specifications and safety standards

\xc2\xb7 Project development and leadership skills are essential

\xc2\xb7 Professional work experience in developing blueprints and designs for proposed structures

\xc2\xb7 Extensive knowledge and experience working with various operating systems

\xc2\xb7 Ability to work with various departments to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan

\xc2\xb7 Experience with software engineering, customer experience and design architecture

\xc2\xb7 Advanced understanding of build materials, techniques and processes

\xc2\xb7 Up to date understanding of best practices regarding building safety measures

\xc2\xb7 Must be knowledgeable and experienced with various code such as BS, EN, UBC, AISC, ACI, IBC, and ASCE codes. Must be proficient in ASD and/or LRFD design methodologies
