Summary:

Plans and directs the activities related to the inspection functions in a manner which meets company standards and methods as determined by quality assurance or other engineering departments. Outlines and implements training procedures of employees for the inspection operation including drawings, prints, schematics and quality assurance standards. Assures smooth operating of the inspection unit, maintaining daily records and reports. Prioritizes schedules based on product introduction and manufacturing schedules, maintaining a minimum turnaround time. Coordinates the disposition of rejected materials. Makes recommendations for capital expenditures and manpower for inspection area. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performs supervisory and administrative duties associated with inspection personnel management.
• Coordinates the tasks and work plans of the Receiving Inspection area
• Observes and verifies the accuracy and adequacy of the inspection activities and records
• Responsible for material flow, storage of parts, and accurate inventory transactions within the MRP system
• Generates and maintains quality metrics and reports, as required, and implements appropriate preventive/corrective actions (as needed) to improve quality. Maintains component and supplier performance data and assists with supplier quality management.
• Identifies problems and proposes solutions that are timely, cost-effective, and meet quality requirements.
• Assists in development of visual and dimensional inspection/test procedures and material specifications.
• Perform first article inspections and supplies data to engineering
• Works with QA, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other department personnel, as necessary, to support quality and business objectives. Assumes and performs other duties as assigned.

• Typically requires a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with 5-8 years of industry experience. Informal management/ team lead experience.
