Position Title: Supply Chain Assistant

Location: Prai, Penang

Overview

The Supply Chain Assistant will play a key role in supporting the company's supply chain operations by ensuring timely availability of raw materials, maintaining optimal inventory levels and facilitating smooth communication between production, sales, and purchasing departments. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively across teams to meet customer delivery requirements and production schedules.

Responsibilities

Inventory Planning & Control
o Determine re-order points and quantities for raw materials based on monthly sales forecasts and actual consumption.

o Maintain realistic safety stock levels to prevent shortages.

o Control and analyze inventory to optimize stock levels and reduce excess holding costs.

Production Support
o Ensure raw materials are available to minimize work-in-progress (WIP) on the production floor.

o Communicate with production teams regarding schedules, capacity requirements, and changes in material needs.

o Generate outstanding schedule reports and update production on pending job orders.

Coordination & Communication
o Liaise with the purchasing department to highlight and expedite urgent raw material deliveries.

o Work closely with production and sales teams to manage recovery plans and backlog orders.

o Propose revised delivery schedules to the sales department when customer delivery dates cannot be met.

o Communicate changes in quantity and delivery dates based on sales feedback.

Administrative Duties Maintain proper filing systems and recording procedures for supply chain documentation. Perform other duties as assigned to support overall supply chain efficiency.
Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. Detail oriented, strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and coordination abilities across departments. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
