Sustainability Manager

Job Description


This position is key to managing our external suppliers that are critical for palm sustainability. The position is responsible to ensure our suppliers meet the Bunge Supplier Code of Conduct and potential additional future compliance verifications. Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead periodical verification and supplier audits with internal and external stakeholders on data verification (including but not limited to NDPE Implementation Reporting Framework, Traceability, Human Rights, Grievance, Supplier Code of Conduct).
  • Conduct supplier engagement and assessments to monitor conformance and identify improvements required to meet various sustainability commitments and/or standards throughout the company\xe2\x80\x99s palm oil value chain.
  • Execute action plans with defined objectives, targets and responsibilities to support agreed upon sustainability strategies with local teams.
  • Support the line manager and senior management on the implementation of sustainability strategies and initiatives.
  • Support and execute targets for key ESG areas such as No Deforestation, GHG emission, Science Based Targets.
  • Support the collation and compilation of sustainability data and information that are necessary to monitor sustainability progress, impacts and assist in producing annual sustainability reports and respond to request for information from various stakeholders.
  • Engage with external stakeholders including customers, suppliers, consultants and civil societies on sustainability related matters.
  • Regular visits to support supplier engagement and smallholder program/workshops in Indonesia.
  • To execute any other job responsibilities as and when required by the supervisor or any other persons designated by the Company.
Requirement:
  • Bachelors in environmental science, conservation, biology, forestry, sustainable science, plantation agriculture, social management or any other related science or social background.
  • Ideal candidate with proven competency and a good working knowledge of sustainability topics (ESG, UNSDG, RSPO, MSPO, ISCC, NDPE Implementation Reporting Framework)
  • Possess good understanding of palm oil supply chain, human rights, HCV, HCS, spatial monitoring and exposure in environmental and social issues pertaining to the palm oil industry.
  • Possess good communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia/Indonesia.
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience in the oil palm sector.
  • You are expected to travel across the SEA region and you will be based in our affiliate\xe2\x80\x99s office in Putrajaya or any other flexible arrangements, including working out of the PG refinery complex.
