About Our Client

Our client specializes in creating high-quality, customized labels for a wide range of industries, including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and consumer goods. They actively seek environmentally friendly solutions, such as utilizing recyclable materials and reducing waste in its production processes.They are looking for a Sustainability Manager to lead the execution of strategic sustainability initiatives for the Asia Pacific region.

This role:
  • Serves as the internal leader and "go to" sustainability subject matter expert, monitoring emerging trends, programs and issues, and communicating and educating others on sustainability topics.
  • Serves as the central point of contact for local interfaces with customers on the subject of Sustainability. This includes being the lead interface with customers relative to their inquiries and their requests for information on company efforts in support of Sustainability. As necessary, collaborate with internal subject matter experts to ensure appropriate responses and communications.
  • Supports the formulation of the local long-term sustainability vision, mission and operating principles, and the development of a localized strategy to promote the approach based on review and discussion with the Global Director Sustainability and Executives.
  • Collaborates with the company\'s internal groups, such as product development (R&D), operations management, engineering, EHS, marketing, and sales to develop a coordinated sustainability plan that support the customers in the region.
  • Sets goals and follow up with operations by site for improvements in reductions of CO2 emissions, use of water and reduction of waste. Implementation of specific projects (SBTi goals, energy & waste reduction\xe2\x80\xa6)
  • Closely monitors the regulatory and legislative changes in the region. Develops action plan with the local technical team to address those changes.
  • Supports the integration efforts following acquisitions to ensure a smooth transition for sustainability effort.
  • Formulates action plans with defined objectives, targets and responsibilities to support agreed upon sustainability strategies.
  • Leads the interface with all government agencies and departments relating to the company\'s responses to questions or statements of position on Sustainability related matters. Monitors proposed regulatory changes around the world that could impact our operations and suggests appropriate responses for MCC Leadership.
  • Fosters a culture of sustainability through ongoing organizational communications and education in close collaboration with the Global Director Sustainability.
  • Actively participates and builds effective partnerships with external organizations (legislative, trade organizations, and conferences) to support sustainability efforts. Assesses the organization\'s current sustainability performance and identifies and prioritizes the organization\'s key sustainability issues.

The Successful Applicant

  • Advanced degree in relevant field, manufacturing experience in the printing or packaging industries is a plus, with proven leadership in sustainability
  • Ability to work closely with company executives, managing directors, plant managers, facility directors, Sales and Marketing, engineering, and R&D, as well as customers.
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • PC skills to include Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with customers and suppliers
  • Knowledge of key company business practices and processes
  • Exhibits sound judgment and professionalism in all aspects of the position
  • Able to differentiate between conflicting priorities and issues to identify underlying causes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assess priorities effectively
  • Willingness to travel half the time
  • Multi-lingual is a plus
