Job Description


  • Assists in the development of the company\xe2\x80\x99s power capability in Malaysia and collaborates with the Regional Team to devise strategies for advancing the in-country power business.
  • Ensures the delivery of high-quality projects and client satisfaction.
  • Takes the lead in developing and preparing tender proposals for power/energy projects.
  • Participates in various project stages, including power plant development, front end/basic engineering, detailed engineering, and construction.
  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of independent power projects structure and the contractual relationships involved, particularly Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) agreements, and Fuel Supply agreements. Also, supervises the general compliance of all parties engaged in these contracts.
  • Manages the local power teams operations, including the recruitment, training, and development of qualified managers. Demonstrates the ability to make tough decisions when dealing with underperforming individuals.
  • Leads by example and takes calculated risks or initiatives that inspire others to go beyond their limits.
  • Motivates and inspires colleagues and associates, aligning them towards the achievement of the organizations goals.
  • Adapts management style as needed and is willing to challenge and change existing practices for the companys benefit.
Requirements
  • Possesses a Masters or Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Has a minimum of 12 years of professional experience after completing their degree.
  • Preferred qualification includes being a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Extensive experience in both thermal and renewable power generation projects and technologies.
  • Additional expertise in renewables, specifically wind, solar, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of effectively motivating and retaining a team of highly skilled professionals.
  • Strong ability to develop people, evident in maximizing the potential of the team and displaying a genuine interest in the growth and advancement of subordinates.
  • Possesses excellent coaching skills to enhance the competencies of the team.
  • Capable of clearly and concisely communicating ideas to peers and subordinates.
  • Articulate and possesses exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
