Objectives of the position
We are looking for a highly dynamic, motivated, and collaborative person to join our team. We are focused on the modernization of legacy systems and development of new capabilities of digital solutions in the Operational Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) domain. Our team also partners with neighboring teams in the production and maintenance domains to collaborate on an integrated platform solution. There is a growing global need within BASF to leverage digitalization to continue BASF's journey of EHS excellence and continuously improving our capabilities especially through digitalization.
In this role, you will collaborate with a global team dedicated to the development, implementation, and support of software solutions that enhance EHS for people and production plants at BASF. You will be responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of platform components including infrastructure, containerization, and cloud services supporting BASF's evolving global portfolio of operational EHS digital solutions. Additionally, you will contribute to project work involving the implementation of existing offering or the development of new solutions within the operational EHS domain.
Responsibilities

• You will need to understand and troubleshoot technical issues with end users, and further replicate and resolve technical issues related to operationalized solutions in the team's product portfolio
• You will be responsible for the test enhancements with a focus on user expectations, and support deployment activities as needed
• You will support system administration for various Operational EHS solutions, including local report and visualization development
• You will coordinate with a global development team within an Agile framework
• You will manage the communication and feedback cycle with end users and digital process owners to align development needs across global digital hubs
• You will need to respond swiftly to high-priority or high-impact issues within the Operational EHS landscape
• You will need to use your strong interpersonal skills to deliver quality internal customer service and collaborate effectively using Agile methodologies and tools

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience
• Experience in Level 2 and/or Level 3 Application Support
• Proven background in application management, operations, and incident handling
• Able to support the Product Manager in global operational support planning and execution
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills
• Self-starter and able to work independently
• Excellent issue isolation, troubleshooting, and debugging skills

Additional Skills

• Experience as a Scrum Master (preferred)
• Proficiency in Angular (v12 & above), Java, and Spring Boot
• Strong SQL queries (PostgresSQL)
• Experience in Extract, Transform, Lead (ETL) especially in Excel
• Familiarity with JasperReports (preferred)
• Competence in JSON manipulation
• Experience supporting cloud-based infrastructure (Azure preferred)
• Background in global teams/projects
• Strong digital mindset to support BASF's digital transformation journey
• Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to foster a positive and energized culture
• Excellent judgement and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments
