Job Description

The Technical Service Manager leads the service organisation responsible for calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and after?market support for advanced metrology equipment. This role ensures exceptional service delivery, drives customer satisfaction, and supports commercial teams with technical expertise and operational leadership.

  • Lead and manage the service team for calibration, maintenance, and repair of metrology instruments.
  • Plan and coordinate service schedules and calibration plans for tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to measurement systems and provide software/application support.
  • Support sales with customer part evaluations and demonstrations.
  • Maintain accurate service records, calibration certificates, and customer machine listings.
  • Manage after?market sales including upgrades, SMA, spare parts, maintenance, rental, and training.
  • Oversee warranty claims, spare parts operations, and customer complaint resolution.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and global factories to ensure parts availability and timely service.
  • Monitor after?market performance metrics and implement actions to improve satisfaction.
  • Lead and develop service engineers and support staff while driving a high?performance culture.
  • Build strong customer relationships and manage escalated service cases

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in service and after?market roles within the metrology or instrumentation industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of calibration, measurement systems, and quality standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem?solving skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems for service and inventory management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • ISO/IEC 17025 or equivalent calibration standards.
  • APICS, Six Sigma, or other operations/service management certifications.
