About the role

Your main role are:

• Responsible for providing technical support mainly that relates to the needs from local Malaysia and SEA market and involvement in technical activities of the short/long term development work as requested by the Technical Department.
• To establish a high level of technical competency for the organization in Passive Fire Protection and involvement in technical activities concerning fire regulations of our products and systems applications through either internal or external engagement.
• All technical activities are restricted mainly to the Passive Fire Protection area, but other business areas are also required dependent on the direction and strategy set by the organization.

Responsibilities:

Technical Scope

• Provide responsive technical support to technical inquiries/consultancy to local Commercial team.
• Liaison with local Commercial team, subsequently translating market requests into development for new or modified products and systems.
• Representing the Technical Department as the local Products and Systems application specialist for internal and external engagements such as presentations, site visits, project proposals and technical calculations.
• Involvement in Products and Systems development i.e. to initiate and participates in all fire testing activities in concern to his/her market of responsibility.
• Conduct theoretical and practical training sessions to enhance competency in products and systems applications knowledge for team players internal departments and external customers.
• Develop and constantly update technical materials such as drafting of technical notes, uploading relevant technical documents and detailed drawings, etc.
• Preparation of individual progress report and submitting visit reports as determined by the Superior.
• Carry out inspection and signing off CCC certification on completed installed systems in building projects.
• Always exercise cost effectiveness and efficiency practices in conducting work tasks.
• BOMBA approvals, renewals & applications:

a) Locate, source for test reports and assessments for BOMAB application of systems approval.

b) Procurement of samples and preparation of Mock-ups for BOMBA application

c) Preparation of SIRIM assessments for BOMBA submission

Market Knowledge

• Actively involved in the market of the allocated segment through customer discussions, seminars, consultant visits, site visits, professional membership, trade shows, etc., to keep updated on latest market and design trend, product development and technologies in the industry.
• Monitor competitors\' products and conduct detailed technical analysis at a regular basis by acquire and record competitors\' product information, new systems, market trends and legislative requirements into Technical Services Department\'s server.
• Continually participating in self-development seminar. Training., courses, etc., from time to time.

About you

Qualifications:

• Possess a diploma/degree in Building/Civil Engineering or Architectural with minimum 2 years working experience in the building construction industry.
• Fresh graduates are encourage to apply.
• Technical knowledge in fire science subject, its related test methods, standards and passive fire protection systems will be important.
• Skills in presentations and explaining technical aspects of fire and passive fire protection systems to internal and external parties.
• Skills in preparing clear, concise, thorough, meaningful writing of month reports, visit reports, memorandums, letters, proposals and minutes of meetings.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement strategies set by department or organization independently of as a team.
• Knowledge in AutoCAD and Sketch Up software tools will be an advantage.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia is a prerequisite. Other language skills such as Mandarin is an added advantage.
• Able to work under minimal supervision, independently or as part of a team.
• Possess a positive attitude and good communication skills dealing with all relevant parties.
• Ability to travel domestic and international in a short-given period of notice.
