Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to determine the layout and location of electrical wiring, equipment, and components.
Testing electrical systems and equipment to identify any malfunctions, and performing necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
Using a variety of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment, to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
Maintaining accurate records of all work completed, including repair and installation documentation, maintenance logs, and safety reports.
Collaborating with other technicians and engineers to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for upgrades or new equipment.
Ensuring compliance with all safety procedures and regulations, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.
In addition to these technical responsibilities, an electrical technician may also be expected to have strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
