KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Carries out daily defects clearing, troubleshoots, installs, removes, repairs, calibrates and test electronic, pneumatic instruments and control systems defect and other maintenance activities.
  • Carries out maintenance overhauls and defect investigations on all instrument and control equipment of plant and reports on plant conditions.
  • Carries out plant modifications and installation of new or replacement instruments, equipment or systems.
  • Carries out adjustment and settings on running plant.
  • Carries out activities of allied trades where necessary.
  • Performs work in control and instrumentation skill area as wiring, tubing, assembly, isolating, jointing and calibrations.
  • Operates mechanical and electrical aids and uses portable equipment and machine tools.
  • Maintains and safe keeps of the maintenance tools issued.
  • Completes the checklists or records associated with the assigned work.
  • Maintains cleanliness and good housekeeping practices at work places.
  • Wears the personal protective equipment provided by the Corporation (e.g. safety shoes, helmets, etc.) and to abide strictly to the safety rules.
  • Undertakes training to enable jobholder to upgrade.
  • Participates with the store personnel in the stock taking and checking.
  • Carries out relevant duties that may be assigned from time to time.
  • To comply with all requirements in line with the ISMS Manual and ISMS Role and Responsibilities procedure.
  • To comply with all requirements with regard to the Quality & Environmental Manual and the Quality and Environmental Role and Responsibilities procedure.
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE (KNOW-HOW):
  • Minimum Certificate in Engineering or MLVK Level III with minimum 3 years of practical experience in power station or other related industries.
  • Preferably with a certificate of technical training in Control and Instrument or Electronic discipline.
THINKING OF ENVIRONMENT & CHALLENGES (PROBLEM-SOLVING):
  • Knowledge of the manuals, procedures and equipment used in the operation, maintenance and repair of steam boilers and auxiliary equipment.
  • Knowledge of plant safety and accident prevention measures required for operating, maintaining and repairing all heating or power plant equipment.
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot and repair complex equipment, involving work of a varied nature with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to carry out maintenance overhauls and defect investigation on power plant equipment.
  • Ability to perform work in the control and instrumentation skill area such as wiring, tubing, assembly, isolating, jointing and calibrations.
  • Knowledge of thermal power plant operation and its auxiliary equipment.

Preference will be given to internal candidate.
