A leading food manufacturing company is looking for a Utility & Reliability Manager to be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining company, local or international authorities\xe2\x80\x99 safety and health programmes to ensure adherence to all laws, regulations and guidelines. In this job, you will report to the Senior Engineering Manager. About the Utility & Reliability Manager Role:
In this position, you will be required to support and be involved in the execution and implementation of the corrective actions in order to optimise maintenance cost as well as reduce unscheduled stoppages. Key Responsibilities:

• Conceptualise, engineer, design, and implement mechanical utility and HVAC projects within new and currently operating food plant facilities, as well as non-food producing facilities
• Provide troubleshooting and problem solving using basic technical knowledge, analytical techniques and theory of operation for all building utility systems including day-to-day steam boiler operations and duties, heating, steam, condensate, compressed air, vacuum, hot water, hydronic, and HVAC and HVAC support systems
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks to plant utility and WWTP equipment and systems as required through the FM maintenance management programme
• Perform energy conservation studies on existing mechanical systems, develop and implement energy savings projects
• Lead and direct multi-disciplinary design teams in preparation of feasibility studies and capital costs estimates
• Lead project concept activities and drive concepts through design and implementation if funded
• Develop technical project deliverables such as: drawings, specifications, scopes of work, budgets, schedules, reports, design criteria, and operating procedures
• Manage project budgets, scopes of work, and design teams
• Coordinate mechanical activities with design teams, vendors, contractors, and customers
• Manage suppliers and contractors during design, and on-site during construction and startup activities

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong hands-on equipment maintenance and troubleshooting experience, preferably within the FMCG manufacturing industry. Key Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field of study
• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in maintaining utilities in the FMCG manufacturing industry
• Steam engineer competency is a plus
• Prior experience managing WWTP systems is highly preferred
• Familiarity with the design and operation of major food processing plants with specific knowledge of mechanical utility systems to support space conditioning (inclusive of maintaining temperature and humidity), steam generation and distribution, hot water generation, chilled water generation and distribution, and ammonia refrigeration
• Prior experience in utility operations and sequence of operations for typical food plant production systems
• Familiar with process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID)
• Experience with water treatment systems (RO and DI) is preferred
• In-depth knowledge of the design of general facility infrastructure
• Experience with CSI/construction specifications, specifying fire protection systems, site utilities, State energy codes, NFPA, ASHRAE, ASME, IBC
• Computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access
• Excels in operating in a fast-paced, community environment
• Open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
