Work to ensure effective application of a digital design system relevant to the product being created, and working together with other design team members for an ecosystem based user journey with focus on end user/customer needs.

• As design, represent UI/UX and human centered design within the organization, and actively work to represent the cause for good user experience within AIA. This may include facilitating design and/discovery workshops, utilizing design thinking as a measure towards human centered design approaches, giving presentations and training towards other members of the organization, and giving considered and justified feedback towards supporting approaches which provide better customer experience.
• Understand the digital ecosystem as a whole and work with other designers to build up a comprehensive design system, and pattern libraries which can be utilized for design, by all business areas for AIA Malaysia, taking into account the current design ecosystem which utilizes different approaches based on different user types, the existing (soon to be replaced) Malaysia design system, and with consideration from Group design.
• Act as an interface for the Design team to business and other stakeholders. Assess business requirements to produce concepts, user journeys, design proposals, prototypes or produce first cut wireframing to utilize within a design and discovery workshop for business. Provide realistic and viable resourcing needs for design on projects, produce workshop breakdowns and design timelines, coordinate with developer timelines to produce unified output. Represent Design as a subject matter expert within meetings.
• Understanding and practical application of data driven design. Experience with user research i.e usability testing, or self-run exercises such as corridor/guerrilla testing. This includes process, preparation, timelines and planning, assessment of test results to produce changed design. This will necessitate work both within projects in AIA Malaysia, and with Group on Group-driven user cohort research exercises.
• Study and keep abreast of the latest design trends catered to customer needs across industries in general, use user research to keep in touch with customers, and influence projects with increasing customer driven direction.
• Work individually with business before the formalization of a business case or gathering of a team, in which case, will need to facilitate and run workshops, and develop hands-on design work which may include user journeys or flows, screens, wireframes, design templates, mocks or concepts, layouts, grids, hi fidelity screens and design prototypes.
• Management of external vendors and/or contractors, negotiate and agree on scope and time estimation, handle the resourcing and scope of work for a design team, and to oversee and overview design work.
• Responsible for quality of design work, whether working individually or with a team. Performance of design verification after the development stage, working with the designers within a team to ensure production of quality work and correct understanding and interpretation of the requirements.
• Preferred: demonstrated understanding of Agile and experience working within teams running Scrum, including the role of design within the Agile process.
• Preferred: demonstrated understanding of design thinking and/or LEAN methodology, in context with design.
• Preferred: Experience with remote/digital facilitation methods, design thinking or digital whiteboarding tools.

Job Requirements:

• 10 years minimum of user research, user experience and user interface design experience for software, websites and mobile application development.
• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s and/or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in interaction design, new media design, industrial design, Human-Computer Interaction, human factors/ergonomics or any other related field. A strong and varied portfolio and relevant field of experience in UI and UX.
• Strong conceptualization ability and strong visual communication ability coupled with good design skills, production value and attention to detail.
• Advocate for a user-centric design approach and foster a shared understanding of the connection between design, business, and engineering within the team.
• Good working knowledge of Figma or any associated design tools, and prototyping tools such as Figma, Miro, etc as well the flexibility to pick up new tools.
• Experience with evaluating target markets and creation of personas; and incorporating user research as part of the design process.
• Ability to quickly pick up new projects, in order to either own it on the design side as the resident expert; or to work within a team to achieve multiple deliveries across a single project.
• Good understanding of design process and of the whole project lifecycle.
• Ability to share and brainstorm, and receptive to new ideas and variations.
• Ability to communicate effectively, manage multiple stakeholders, and meet tight deadlines.
