• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a preschool setting, out of which 5 as a Principal
• Diploma in Early Childcare & Education Leadership or equivalent
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Good ICT skills
• Have the necessary skills to manage safely classroom activities, the physical learning space and resources for which they are responsible.
• Understand and be able to use a range of strategies to deal with classroom behaviour as whole and also individual behavioural needs in line with school policy.
• To be able to remain calm, efficient and positive under pressure.
• Good positive communication skills, tact, patience, sense of humour with all staff, students and parents.
• Great people manager; able to motivate and coach junior staff
• Flexibility, common-sense and stamina.
• Ability to prioritise work and time management.
• A good team player.
• Calm and sensitive to all situations.
• Discretion/Confidentiality skills.

• Lead a team of early childhood teachers in providing quality education, holistic development and care for the children.
• Supervise the work of whole classes set by their class/subject teacher, in accordance with school policies.
• Able to manage centre's daily operations, budget, income and expenditure etc.
• Manage operations, which include student admission, finance, procurement and administration.
• Receive and register students on arrival, as well as send them off at pick-up.
• Distribute, explain and monitor the work set by other teachers.
• Liaise with the appropriate Curriculum Leader/Guidance Leader/teacher regarding the work to be set and, at the end of the lesson return the work completed.
• Guide and support the development and implementation of teaching and learning approaches and resources, as well as best practices to enhance the learning experiences for the children.
• Facilitate proactive and positive engagement with parents and the community.
• Maintain the safety of all students all the time.
• Occasionally get involved with teaching as a main class leader.
• The post holder may be asked to or cover other duties as requested.
