Position Overview
The Video Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of video production, ensuring the final product meets the highest creative and technical standards. This role requires exceptional leadership, creativity, and technical expertise to manage projects from concept development to final delivery. As a Video Director, you will play a pivotal role in defining the visual identity of client projects while upholding VISIOLAB's reputation for producing outstanding corporate video content.
The Responsibilities
Pre-Production:
Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand project objectives, target audience, and deliverables.
Develop creative concepts, storyboards, and assist with script building that align with client goals and brand messaging.
Create production schedules, budgets, and timelines, ensuring alignment with project scope.
Scout and secure locations, plan set designs, and procure necessary equipment and talent.
Conduct pre-production meetings to brief the team, including cinematographers, editors, and other crew members.
Production:
Direct filming sessions, ensuring all shots align with the storyboard and creative vision.
Supervise camera operations, lighting setups, and sound recording to achieve high-quality visuals and audio.
Provide clear direction to actors, on-screen talent, and crew to bring creative concepts to life.
Adapt to on-site challenges and make quick decisions to maintain the project's quality and timeline.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols on set.
Assist the creative director in any task related to directing production
Post-Production:
Oversee the editing process, including reviewing footage, providing feedback, and approving cuts.
Collaborate with editors, colourists, and sound designers to enhance the visual and auditory appeal of videos.
Ensure final deliverables meet technical specifications and client expectations.
Manage revisions and client feedback while maintaining project timelines.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
Lead and inspire a team of creative professionals, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Provide mentorship and training to junior team members, ensuring professional growth and skill development.
Coordinate with producers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Creative Development and Innovation:
Research and stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies to keep projects innovative and competitive.
Experiment with new styles, techniques, and technologies to enhance production quality.
Propose new ideas and concepts to clients and internal teams to expand creative possibilities.
Pitch project ideas to potential clients, showcasing the creative vision and benefits to secure new opportunities.
Administrative and Reporting:
Maintain accurate documentation for project budgets, schedules, and client communications.
Report on project progress and address any potential challenges to management.
Ensure all video content complies with copyright, licensing, and legal requirements.
Skills and Competencies Required
