About the Department

UOB Investment Banking provides a wide range of financing and advisory solutions, with a team of highly experienced bankers to provide best-in-class advice, bespoke financing & capital raising solutions and execution excellence to clients across the UOB franchise. With offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Australia, Corporate Finance Malaysia works closely with other partners within the Group Investment Banking to provide holistic investment banking solutions to meet the diverse and cross-border needs of our clients as they expand in the region.

The Corporate Finance Malaysia team works seamlessly with Investment Banking product teams (Loan Financing Group, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions, Leveraged Finance, and Infrastructure & Project Finance) to customize bespoke solutions for UOB clients. In addition, the Corporate Finance Malaysia team is actively involved in the execution of investment banking transactions, focusing on M&A, Leveraged Finance and event driven financing. We are currently growing our Corporate Finance team based in Kuala Lumpur and are looking to bring in a highly driven individual. Job Responsibilities

  • Identify, originate and drive deal origination and win mandates across multiple investment banking products, focusing on M&A, Leveraged Finance and event driven financing.
  • Conduct financial analysis and modelling, valuation analysis, and trading comparable and precedent transaction analysis to evaluate potential M&A and financing transactions, as well as to develop and present comprehensive business cases and presentations to senior management and key stakeholders to secure approvals for M&A and financing transactions.
  • Monitor and track the progress of ongoing M&A projects, prepare regular status reports and communicating updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to tasks in all phases of financing transaction executions, from research, idea generation, credit analysis, pitch preparation, analysis and modelling, termsheet and loan structuring, documentation through to roadshow organization and deal closing.
  • Conduct credit analysis and process for credit approvals.
  • Conduct comprehensive research, analyses, documentation and reports on selected companies and prepare presentation kits for use at client meetings.
  • Build financial models for valuation and benchmark purposes, for financial performance measurement as well as to analyze and measure the performance under different scenarios for debt transactions.
Job Requirements
  • You should have a good Bachelor\'s Degree from a recognized university. A Master\'s degree or a professional certification (e.g. CFA, CPA) is a plus.
  • At least 8 years prior experience of strong transactional experience in M&A / leveraged and acquisition finance / structured finance / investment banking.
  • Solid understanding of M&A processes, and familiar with business valuation and financial modeling
  • Candidate is required to secure license to be involved in Permitted Capital Market Activities - Advising on Corporate Finance. An existing licensed (CMSRL) person is particularly valued.
  • Possesses high level of drive, initiative and deal follow-through, with ability to originate and lead deal execution, as well as to spot opportunities in IB deals origination.
  • Possess strong valuation/credit analysis skills and proficient in financial modeling, with the ability to interpret and evaluate complex financial data.
  • Knowledge of M&A best practices, industry trends and regulatory trends.
  • Advanced proficiency in using financial analysis software, spreadsheets and presentation tools (e.g. Microsoft in PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Meticulous, strong team player with an inquisitive mind, excellent people skills, driven, independent, reliable and highly adaptable to changes.
  • Possess strong communication skills in written and spoken English and Bahasa Melayu, and ability to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage.
