Job Responsibilities:

  • Shall be a professional with relevant engineering qualifications and hold a recognized engineering degree;
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or internationally recognised Certified Welding Engineer;
  • A minimum of 15 years\' experience in the upstream oil and gas industry with an Oil and Gas Company or Consultant/Contractor, of which at least 5 years should have been in a Lead or Principal role with full technical responsibility for welding and materials engineering activities.
  • It is preferred if candidate has experience working with a Welding Contractor (or equivalent);
  • Experience in severe sour CRA clad and carbon steel subsea pipelines welding and has executed lead role in minimum one offshore severe sour pipeline installation project;
  • In depth knowledge and experience with international welding codes and Shell Specification;
  • Sound knowledge of all welding processes especially STT, CMT, GTAW, SMAW & MIG.
  • Willingness and ability to work in various geographical and regionals locations, onshore fabrication sites, and offshore facilities and/or vessels is essential;
  • Proven experience and strong knowledge of the role of Senior Welding Engineer, for sour service projects in the Oil & Gas industry, with major IOC, NOC and/or major engineering companies during engineering, procurement and construction stages;
  • Proven experience in Engineering Critical Assessment (ECA) and the development of weld defect acceptance criteria, specifically as applied to severe sour service CRA clad and carbon steel pipeline in a subsea environment, subject to lateral buckling;
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing through memos and engineering reports.
  • All professional certificate (eg CSWIP / PCN / NACE / ASNT / EX etc) required must be current and valid
  • 3 project location ie Kuala Lumpur, Johor and offshore Sarawak; shortlisted candidate will be notified on project and location.
