Job Description

Key Responsibilities

-Perform visual inspections and verification of welds, joints, and materials in accordance with AWS, ASME, and ISO standards.

-Ensure welding activities comply with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).

-Conduct welder qualification tests and maintain certification records.

-Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding codes/standards.

-Maintain accurate inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and welding records.

-Monitor welding consumables and verify they are stored and used according to quality requirements.

-Support root cause analysis and corrective action plans for welding-related issues.

-Collaborate with the Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering teams to resolve welding quality concerns.

-Assist in internal and external audits related to welding and fabrication quality.

-Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies at all times.

Requirements

Education & Certification:

-Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or equivalent.

-Must hold a valid AWS-CWI certification (Certified Welding Inspector).

Experience:

-Minimum 3 years of working experience in welding inspection, preferably in manufacturing, oil & gas, pressure vessels, or heavy fabrication industries.

-Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys welding processes.

-Strong knowledge of welding processes.

Skills & Competencies:

-Excellent understanding of welding symbols, codes, and standards

-Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

-Ability to prepare clear and detailed inspection reports.

-Good communication and teamwork skills, able to liaise with multiple departments.

-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and inspection software/tools.

-Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
