About The Role A Client Servicing Professional should be an experienced, broadly capable project and account manager who handles a wide range of assignments, projects and/or clients with a high degree of success and independence. An Account Executive / Account Manager has the confidence and support of multiple client contacts. She/he is an emerging company leader. An Account Executive / Account Manager has demonstrated high-level professional knowledge and skills. She/he should be able to manage a piece of a large account or a few smaller ones, with top cover from her/his Senior Account Manager, Account Director and/or Group Account Director. She/he should have project management, budgeting, counseling, programming, people management and emerging business development skills. He/she takes responsibility for the projects he/she manages, providing excellent client service, applying the office\'s best resources, effectively managing people involved in projects and managing for profitable growth. As an emerging company leader, the person demonstrates the ability and wherewithal to deliver on our vision, performance requirements and growth projections. As a client servicing professional, you have strong client relationships. There is no time limit on the Account Executive / Account Manager position. What You\'ll Do An Account Executive / Account Manager meets all the responsibilities and expectations of a Executive / Senior Account Executive and: Manages client expectations. Develops and manages projects/programs, including implementation plans, evaluation mechanisms, staffing plans, budgets and timelines. Independently handles several small accounts or major projects of a large account, performing much of the day-to-day work with assistance from both more junior and more senior staff as appropriate. Is client\'s primary day-to-day contact on projects, or for smaller accounts, is the contact for the full account and has client\'s respect, trust and confidence. Develops presentations for clients relative to project management/program status. Keeps team(s) appropriately informed and involved in projects, leads team that feels empowered, respected, learning and well functioning. Identifies and secures help on emerging account problems. Is able to articulate and apply agency vision, goals, practice areas, products and overall capabilities. Professional Skills Is gaining depth and diversity of account experience that informs public relations counsel. Has full understanding of public relations and a demonstrated ability to achieve public relations objectives. Develops and drafts programs based on team input. Understands business trends for industry segment/products. Is a broadly capable writer, able to generate a range of materials (e.g., client memos, press releases, speeches, and articles) that require minimal editing. Is a skilled editor capable of directing the written materials of others. Oversees and directs media campaigns. Has established relationships with print and broadcast journalists. Efficiently and effectively plans and manages events (e.g., press conferences, media tours, analyst meetings, advocate briefings, etc.) Understands the creative process and how to work effectively with internal and external creative resources. Has in-depth understanding of graphic and video production, as well as IT and emerging media. Has established a circle of industry editorial, investment community, professional and/or third-party group contacts. Has strong presentation skills and plays an increasingly active role in new business and client presentations. Anticipates and assists in developing solutions to client needs and problems. Provides leadership in building effective, productive account teams. Has built and applies specialized expertise in a particular subject or functional areas. Financial/Administrative Develops accurate project budgets and monitors them effectively. Oversees timely development and distribution of bills and activity reports. Follows-up with clients on collections and other financial and administrative details. Completes timesheets daily and otherwise acts in accordance with company policies and procedures, and ensures that team does the same. Meets billability targets established for the Account Manager position, and ensures that team does the same. People Management Provides senior managers with input for hiring, assessment and career development activities. Identifies strengths and weaknesses of direct reports and team members, providing guidance and counseling on job performance and career development as appropriate. Provides input to senior managers in order to manage timely performance appraisals for direct reports. Manages staff to maximize productivity and individual, team and financial performance. Business Development Provides leadership in developing and presenting new business programs for potential and existing clients. Provides leadership in growing existing accounts. Identifies and pursues opportunities for developing new business within and across company offices and practice areas. Offers creative ideas and recommendations for new/expanded programs and proposals. Delivers strong analysis, strategies and concepts to new program development. Effectively presents and discusses firm capabilities, based on knowledge of cases, products and services. Must be familiar with New Business Guidebook and databases. Proficient in conceptualizing media relations campaigns. Initiative and General Management Is familiar with, and supports achievement of, the company\'s vision and exemplifies the company\'s values. Routinely contributes to agency growth and performance as project, team, group and agency leader. Delegates effectively. Routinely recommends and implements solutions when problems arise. Assists peers in problem solving. Uses talents of colleagues in own problem solving. Routinely seeks and shares information with colleagues. Participates actively in team, staff and client meetings. Routinely invests in building agency and client accounts and resources. Works with supervisor to identify and address supervisory training, leadership and career development needs. Continually seeks new ways to learn, improve and contribute. Exhibits a sense of curiosity about client work and seeks more information and knowledge in response. What You\'ll Need Preferably have more than 2 - 3 years of experience in communications or related industries such as electronic or print journalism Has the confidence and support of multiple client contacts. Candidates with demonstrated communication skills and training or in a field related to the business such as telecommunications, property and banking A capable writer who can generate a range of materials such as client memos, press releases, speeches and articles that require minimal editing A skilled editor capable of directing the written materials of juniors Oversees and directs communications campaigns Demonstrates the 6 brand values of Ogilvy Strong presentation skills and plays an active role in new business and client presentations Participates actively in team, staff and client\'s meetings Continually seeks new ways to learn and improve Consistently identifies and pursues opportunities for enhancing involvement and contributions to the account, team and agency Displays work ethics and values of the organisation in day-to-day behaviour Works with supervisor to identify and address training, education and skill-building needs.
