Job Overview

The Freight Manager (Airfreight - East Malaysia & ASEAN) will oversee both commercial and operational aspects of the air freight business. This role focuses on customer engagement, rate and space negotiation, and ensuring smooth, cost-effective, and service-oriented handling of shipments to East Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial

Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and business retention. Handle customer enquiries promptly, prepare competitive freight quotations, and provide tailored logistics solutions. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the air freight segment to East Malaysia & ASEAN. Negotiate with airlines, vendors, and service providers to secure competitive space allocations and rates. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and airline capacities to stay commercially competitive.

Operations

Oversee day-to-day air freight operations to East Malaysia & ASEAN, ensuring timely and accurate shipment processing. Coordinate with internal teams, airlines, and partners for flight booking, documentation, and delivery arrangements. Resolve shipment issues, service disruptions, or cost discrepancies efficiently. Ensure all shipments comply with company standards, airline requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Review performance metrics to improve cost efficiency, service quality, and turnaround times. Any tasks assigned by superior.

What We're Looking For

Minimum 5 years of experience in air freight forwarding, with a solid understanding of both commercial and operational functions. Proven experience managing air shipments to East Malaysia & ASEAN is preferred. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills, particularly with airlines and service providers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first mindset. Proactive, analytical, and results-driven with the ability to work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics management systems.

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
